Earlier this year, when players and coaches associated with the club publicly commented on how two 18 year old kids have driven standards, I just knew this club has been down s**t creek for quite some time from a culture point of view.

I've never heard anything like that in my time following football; two 18 year old kids setting standards after being at the club for 5 minutes.

This is so depressing

I am completely apathetic to this loss.

It's disappointing how our Club is incapable of doing the bare minimum and beating a side that has conceded 200 points in a game this season, but it's hardly surprising now.

If this game happened when I were a kid/teenager, I probably would've balled my eyes out or broken something, but now I don't even have the passion to get angry about this stuff anymore.

I remember how optimistic I was after Round 2, thinking that we were finally turning a new leaf, and the Club was building towards something, little did we know what we were install for.

You just can’t fathom given how dire our situation is that half the f!$king team still can’t put in a 4 qtr effort. Something as simple as effort!! You don’t need skills to produce effort!

I would love to know if they hold each other accountable and have hard conversations. I think I know the answer.

I agree. I feel the same way - complete apathy. Legit - I just knew we’d lose yesterday - I tipped west coast. It’s unfortunately become so predictable. And when we started to come back I didn’t care because again I just kinda knew it wasn’t going to happen.

The bottom line, is I feel like teams playing north just feel like it’s their bye sadly.

What I don’t like is the difference in the way the club operates within the club and with its members and supporters.

You bring down walls Clarko, for transparency and inclusiveness, but we as members get a total opposite scenerio.

We ask each other every week why certain players are getting games over other - when there is transparency through the players performances and not deserving games, especially compared to younger guys playing in the VFL, or seniors playing we’ll.

We’re not getting any transparency at all? Just muted out.

How can we be expected to make sense out of Luke McDonald selections or KT or Curtis Taylor?

Because that's exactly how a mates club operates.

Merit, skill or effort isn't the standard required. Just turn up, go fishing together, have some drinks, some tiktok videos, joke around with the boys and you're golden.

Probably a bit rough there, Clarko has been very clear that we need senior players to lead the way if we are to win games, but if we aren't winning then we'll play the kids. Which is pretty much what he and Ratts have done.

LMac is the captain, KT possibly was playing a farewell game yesterday (but not noteworthy enough to announce it publicly), CT has been earning his chance in the 2nds.

The only player I can see who is surprisingly not playing is Greenwood, also one could argue Laz deserves more opportunity in the AFL. Bergman had dropped off and needed a spell in the VFL to work on things, as did Philips a few weeks back.

Imagine being the worst team in the comp, losing your coach for most of the year, first time most of the players have been FAVOURITES in a game, having it be your caretakers coach last game, being in Perth, and not meeting expectations?

I mean... I know giving the players excuses
.. but they have good excuses.

Yes we were DEPLORABLE and scored 1 goal for a half...

But we stormed back twice and lost by 5 points so... kind of to be expected really. It's where we are at and none of us should've had any illusions to this. I'm sure the club doesn't.

Nah.

Enough with the excuses.

11 wins in 4 years. Fitzroy had excuses at the end, they couldn't even pay players and won 18 in their last 4 years.

Imagine this lot if they didn't get paid. How would they pay their phone bill to use instagram?

If you followed North in the 50's/60's you'd have been more annoyed. Then the 70's came along and it completely changed - ala the 90's. It's a tough gig at the moment, but giving in is never an option.

This is far worse than the 50's and 60's if it continues on this path

And really I can't see it changing this decade

I can see it changing quickly if everyone’s committed..

the issue I see is I don’t believe enough players at north are.

Why would it change quickly?

We have at least 15 players on the list not up to AFL standard, going to take at least 3 years to recoup that and then go from there

Things are never as good or as bad as everyone believes in football, we’ve got a bunch of young kids who are very talented, I still think there’s hope there.

I believe the older players are toxic for what ever reason.
Let’s be honest Shiels came out of retirement and displays more heart and determination then most of senior players. The quicker we rid of these elements the better.

We've been playing ok footy last month and pushing teams. I'm talking this one GAME there's good reasons and we don't need to play doomsday. If we get done by 100 next week well...

We've played unacceptable football 2 out of the last 3 games.
