Caro and Sheehan basically implied that Collingwood was a no go zone. It had been implied that the AFL had told both new clubs to avoid approaching and recruiting Collingwood players as its in the AFL'S best interest to have a successful Collingwood. The last thing the AFL wants is to have its first franchise ruined by its two new ones.
I would be very suprised if that actually happened. GCS chased Pendels and Daisy pretty hard. I can't see GWS not chasing Cloke.

Are you kidding me? The high drama of a Collingwood player being poached (and let's face it, Collingwood are hardly in a position to complain about such things from a historical perspective) would be precisely what the AFL would want. Collingwood would hardly die or fall in a screaming heap for all eternity. Geelong wasn't "ruined" by having GAJ and Bomber stolen.

They didnt chase that hard and the numbers they where talking werent in the ball park of other players poached. If Scully was offered what he got surely Thomas or Pendlebury were worth that and more.
It just goes to show you can talk sense when your hatred does not blind you and I would say that is a correct assumption.
Gee, it's almost like they play different roles isn't it? I suppose you'll tell me Andrew Walker is better than Steve Johnson because he kicked more goals last year.
Cloke is clearly the second best KPF in the AFL.
They really need stop listening to what Eddie tells them and actually get some sources from GWS especially as GWS is superkeen on Cloke.

Obviously Ablett was the exception but there were other reasons to his departure than just the money.
It's just been heavily scrutinized because it happens to be Collingwood.
It's no different to any other power club in recent times. They all stay. (have to take some form of pay cuts obviously but its the price you pay to stay).

Based on the little piss takes such as this and Daisies tweets, I think he's already signed with the Pies and it's being kept under wraps for the promo value of the GWS (Sheedy) Pies (Edwardo) "war".
Cloke's goal inferiority to Riewoldt is more to do with his profligacy in front of goal than his goal position. It is easy to win the coleman from CHF, it's just that Cloke's kicking lets him down. Lets not forget that before 2011, Cloke was pretty damn average.
And I'd say Riewoldt and Cloke are closer in terms of player style than Walker and Johnson. You can spin any comparison you like, but both Cloke and Riewoldt are the major spearheads for their respective sides.
