Agree. I've been brainwashed by valvaline oil and continental tyres. I've learnt nothing about list management or any actual trade activityHonestly I’m thinking more and more trade week is just theatre created by the AFL so they can sell advertising and keep past players in a media gig for a couple weeks. These deals have been done they just drip feed them to us to keep us engaged all week. It’s nonsense.
Someone should really call him out. How is the pressure and what he has been advised any different to, for example, taranto, JHF, bowes, jackson.
Why is this indigenous man not able to make his own decisions about what is best for him and his career without it being called into question? I seem to recall similar things in the media recently, hypocrisy much?
Hows your wheels? Purring like a kitten?Agree. I've been brainwashed by valvaline oil and continental tyres. I've learnt nothing about list management or any actual trade activity
More so he’s underrated in this draft given he’s a late year Bdaythis rating seems contradictory to the idea that next years draft is stronger.
Well, yea. It used be like 3-4 days didn't it? Then CrocMedia got involved and it's suddenly a 10 day affair where they spend all day making up shit in between adverts for car tires.Honestly I’m thinking more and more trade week is just theatre created by the AFL so they can sell advertising and keep past players in a media gig for a couple weeks. It goes for just over a week, with the potential for some players (with a partner/kids) needing to decide very quickly if they want to move states - requiring meetings with coaches & officials, club visits, medicals.Honestly I’m thinking more and more trade week is just theatre created by the AFL so they can sell advertising and keep past players in a media gig for a couple weeks. Or he's trying to use the pick we get for Frampton, which is held up because Collingwood are dealing with a host of other trades. They'd likely have the plan set with the Suns, which is why the Rankine deal isn't moving. It's waiting on outside pieces parts to start moving before it can get going again.Imagine taking a week just to negotiate some late picks. Only justin reid man.
Our Club should get on the front foot for a change. A single well worded statement early on the peice could have made a bit of difference to how this trade has gone down.
Imagine the hand North will have if the JHF and pick 1 deal gets done. They're looking to put a package together for pick 1, apparently.
They want Wardlaw I presume. They're looking to put a package together for pick 1, apparently.
It's Cadman that GWS and Melbourne want...They want Wardlaw I presume.
I forgot he lived here too - even worse then!it was more than that he was born in adelaide, and pre 10 lived there in street of crows supporters. he should have been prioritised if not at draft before he recommitted.
Very well measured!I'm hoping they are just waiting until the trade goes through and then make a public statement about getting Izak, all positive etc but with a few pointed remarks about poor comments and assumptions made in the media. Call it out but nothing more. Our club does have poor form of late, so I think we're not in a position to be too aggressive. Be the adult here and don't lower ourselves to their level.
I hope Reid is into this and doing a deal for pick 5 and 23. Pick 12 to GC will be fair.
More so he’s underrated in this draft given he’s a late year Bday
A club might rate him higher than media though
I much rather we don't have much to do and things drag on, than if we have much to do and not have enough time. Some say we did try - but we never know what goes on behind closed doors. The other party / parties have to be willing too, so the fact that it didn't happen isn't evidence that we didn't try.
I think it would be interesting to hear the clubs' perspective on that. We all want them to move like it's speed dating, but maybe the clubs want time to discuss and negotiate deals, and there are domino effects when one trade is dependent on another.
This was the kind of result I was hoping for, but again, I guess you have to have a willing trade partner and also take the risk of GCS digging their heels in over the value of the steak knives.
If he played next year with the added maturity, further growth and the likelihood he'd light up the Nationals he'd probably go pick 2 behind Harley Reid unless someone jumps out of the ground big time. But then again, he would be one of the oldest in next years draft. So would that not discount him as the other 2023 kids would have more upside?
Or do you he should still be top 5 next year?
If so then surely you think we need to trade back into this years draft to get him. We won't have a top 5 pick next year, and he might still be there at pick 10-ish this year.
Media: "trade will be done in the morning".... 2 day later still not even a whisper from the club about how it's tracking
ok, so again, why don't we trade back into this years draft to get him?If he played next year with the added maturity, further growth and the likelihood he'd light up the Nationals he'd probably go pick 2 behind Harley Reid unless someone jumps out of the ground big time.
People always say what you did, I already know.
