Someone should really call him out. How is the pressure and what he has been advised any different to, for example, taranto, JHF, bowes, jackson.
Why is this indigenous man not able to make his own decisions about what is best for him and his career without it being called into question? I seem to recall similar things in the media recently, hypocrisy much?

He is a known huge fan of Rankine, prior to him announcing the trade request. Then JHF abandons North and King is losing his shit at the Adelaide clubs.

Yesterday when bitching about North not getting a first round priority pick, he says something like, 'it's not just about North, West Coast and Adelaide will be in this position next'.

We may still be a bit off the pace, but at North levels soon? Jesus.

Well, yea. It used be like 3-4 days didn't it? Then CrocMedia got involved and it's suddenly a 10 day affair where they spend all day making up shit in between adverts for car tires.

It goes for just over a week, with the potential for some players (with a partner/kids) needing to decide very quickly if they want to move states - requiring meetings with coaches & officials, club visits, medicals.

No one is forcing you to tune into every second of trade radio or endlessly refresh Bigfooty.

Tune it out for a week and then see next Wednesday night what went down.

Imagine taking a week just to negotiate some late picks. Only justin reid man.

Or he's trying to use the pick we get for Frampton, which is held up because Collingwood are dealing with a host of other trades. They'd likely have the plan set with the Suns, which is why the Rankine deal isn't moving. It's waiting on outside pieces parts to start moving before it can get going again.

Our Club should get on the front foot for a change. A single well worded statement early on the peice could have made a bit of difference to how this trade has gone down.

I'm hoping they are just waiting until the trade goes through and then make a public statement about getting Izak, all positive etc but with a few pointed remarks about poor comments and assumptions made in the media. Call it out but nothing more. Our club does have poor form of late, so I think we're not in a position to be too aggressive. Be the adult here and don't lower ourselves to their level.

it was more than that he was born in adelaide, and pre 10 lived there in street of crows supporters. he should have been prioritised if not at draft before he recommitted.

If so then surely you think we need to trade back into this years draft to get him. We won't have a top 5 pick next year, and he might still be there at pick 10-ish this year.

Some say we did try - but we never know what goes on behind closed doors. The other party / parties have to be willing too, so the fact that it didn't happen isn't evidence that we didn't try.

I think it would be interesting to hear the clubs' perspective on that. We all want them to move like it's speed dating, but maybe the clubs want time to discuss and negotiate deals, and there are domino effects when one trade is dependent on another.

This was the kind of result I was hoping for, but again, I guess you have to have a willing trade partner and also take the risk of GCS digging their heels in over the value of the steak knives.

I much rather we don't have much to do and things drag on, than if we have much to do and not have enough time.
