ALP probably did not want a by-election in the Western Suburbs right now.
Just wanted to break the monotony of right wing loonies in here and say thank god he is gone.
He honestly should be jailed for what he’s done to this economy. I hold a decently high position in finance, and only in government would you get away with what he’s done.

Will be important for both sides. Labor can't not run a candidate here like Prahran. 10.9% margin. It would be a disaster if they lost it. But then if the Libs don't make it marginal at least, more pressure will also come on Pessuto if he is still there
The electorate that Pallas holds (but never visits) only has 3 roads that cross a river that divides the area.
Either morning peak or afternoon, it is gridlock, whoever wants the job needs to campaign for a bridge crossing that is in planning (obviously money is needed) but the developing area needs more road upgrades, there is a lot of good planning from previous years where greenfields areas allow for the duplication of current single lane roads.
Hopefully the winner of the by-election doesn't live in Newport and is more noticeable than the federal seat, whom, never appears on any media references. What a sweet job, doing SFA and kissing babies.

Assistant Treasurer, Danny ‘Disaster’ Pearson is being touted as Pallas’ successor. Will that mean every time he gives a press conference Jacinta will be there to save him from embarrassing gaffes? The other candidate being mentioned is Ben Carroll, fresh from the VCE exam debacle.

Despite what he has left the commentary around his departure is classless from the opposition IMO, you don't kick him through the open door and slam it. Be a bit more diplomatic in your approach whilst criticising what he has left. Both Pesutto and the leader of the Nats needed to be better IMO. That goes for both sides of politics. Us in the cheap seats can go nuts and say what we like but the leaders need to show a decent example of how to handle somebody leaving politics.
Only the left wing loonies could defend this blokes track record, he is without doubt the worst treasurer this state has ever seen. We'll be paying for his irresponsible tenure for decades. Maybe the By Election will see someone elected who actually lives in their electorate and not 20 KM away!

Sorry, but after 10 years of divisive politics led for much of that time by Dan (where, for example, the premier openly mocked an LNP member suffering bowel cancer who had a colostomy bag) why would or should you be kind, particularly when this treasurer is leaving the state in a financial blackhole? Why be fake?
This is also a treasurer to who the late Jane Garrett pleaded with not to fund the UFU takeover of the CFA because it would cost billions. Pallas told Garrett he knew it was going to be costly and risky, but in his words "he needed to be supportive of the Premier". We are seeing the damage now what Jane Garrett was on about.

Building infrastructure is one thing, but doing it with little regard for cost or timing promises is another thing.
An what's with quoting a 2019 Seniors report on money wasted on infrastructure? The report bemoans the fact that "another $5 billion is set to be frittered away". A $5B over run for the Victorian Government is chickenfeed! It barely covers the cost over run on the Westgate Tunnel.
