Jack has shown great character, has been under intense media and AFL scrutiny, knew he'd played poorly last week but put the work in at training this week and kicked 3 goals today.

So glad he's in our team and it's great to hear the coach, leaders, players and his family have got around him.

I can't imagine facing the same at age 19.

Indeed. It's easy to overlook his age, given the media scrutiny he's been under, starting with fwit Cornes after round 1.
He responded today in the best possible way.

Its a bit rich to create the attention and then complain about the same attention.

Maybe he was playing politics during that interview.

Pretty crap to read an article about Jack and see at the bottom of it the "If you need help" with the phone numbers of Lifeline, Beyond Blue etc.....
The AFL and football media have put so much scrutiny on him, its obviously has affected him mentally. He didn't ask to be the poster boy for head high tackles, or have the term the "Ginnivan rule" created by the media.
Now its time to back off, and let this kid enjoy playing footy, and not be treated like an outcast by the AFL, the media and particularly the way he is getting umpired.
Thought he was fantastic today, and stood up with real pressure on him, after a quiet couple of weeks....

Agree. And half the bloody presser with fly was questions about him. Fly was doing his best to move on. Media need to give it a rest ffs

AFL is so amateurish with how personal opinion is used so much in commentary and football shows , instead of analysing games.

The lack of professionalism in the coverage of our game is so evident when you look at the coverage of some other sports.

We have the greatest game on earth still (despite all the meddling) but the coverage is so poor. But they're such a closed microcosm that they all drink each other's bathwater and think they're doing a great job.

There are some bloody good AFL journalists and commentators but they're swamped by ex-player nuffies, gossip hounds and ambulance chasers.

Yesterday we saw a couple of times just how good ginni is with the snap shot. He was kicking hundreds of goals as a junior with his snap shots. He get's to the fall of the ball and doesn't have to look where the goals are, it's an instinct that only special forwards have. Peter daicos had it

Playing politics, at age 19?
Ffs, I know times have changed a lot over the years but at 19 politics was the last thing on my mind.
At that age, I would've dribbled so much rubbish if I had a mic put in front of me and the only thing on my mind would've been either how I was going to get in the pants of the woman from Fox or how ****ed up I was going to get that night.
The kid shows maturity AND character at that age. Let him be

Because you couldn't doesn't mean he isn't laying the ground work for next week.

Love his candidness post game…the club needs to kick back harder against the AFL and the fake news media. I’d go a blanket ban on media until they stop sensationalising things and picking on individuals for no reason at all.

Greater respect needs to be given to Collingwood.

Problem is the w***ers will go harder if we give them the shits. Jon Ralph only needs a sniff to make a saga out of nothing.
