Mayne is the king of it, he knows that if he goes the lunge he’ll get stepped around. Frustrating to watch him do it, but the corralling will usually impact the quality of the disposal, so it’s effective.
Slows them down too reducing the likelihood of a fast break. Noone ever gets passed Mayne. Adams is a bit better as he pins the arms more often, but they're both bloody good.

Look at how skinny his legs are

still 18

lots of scope for improvement with this lad

Yeah I’m a tad surprised the club aren’t able to kit him out with a pair of shorts that fit him. Did he borrow Grundy’s shorts or something?

He’s looks like a kid running around in a skirt.

If you've laid the tackle you've laid the tackle, it's completely unnecessary to bring anything else into it for mine or the very questions you bring up come into play, they've drawn a line where they didn't need to. If you needed a line I would have thought break the tackle and it's not counted, like a dropped mark.
With the good mids, unless you pin the arms or ball, they may as well have broken the tackle.

Memo to the PR folks at the club, can we sort out how to pronounce this guy’s name properly?

The commentators were mostly calling him ‘hard G’ Ginnivan (as in the G in Gary) but his senior coach is calling him ‘soft G’ Ginnivan (as in the G in Gerald). IDK which one it is, but for a lad who’s playing senior AFL footy it should be sorted out.

Pronunciation according to one of the best in the business:

Ginnivan had 13 pressure acts. That was the 8th most on our team
With numbers that like there shouldn't be any concerns. Plus with McCreery and hopefully Dib also in the forward mix Ginnivan's forward pressure doesn't need to be manic.

With the good mids, unless you pin the arms or ball, they may as well have broken the tackle.
Exactly why you don't make it complicated, you've forced them to change their action and it may or may not effect the handball, it may or may not end up hitting it's target, hence the KISS principle, it avoids people asking why Ginnivan isn't credited with a tackle when they saw him lay a tackle.

In the first quarter, he also tried to tackle Sheed and Nic Nat. Thats some guts for the young kid.
This 'kid' has the heart of a lion - rather than say 'I will never let you down' he seeks to demonstrate it.

If I had to guess I'd say Jack will never leave any shots in the locker.

Yes that infamous quote still sticks in my craw

Fortius quo fidelius, just like it says on my coffee table with powder coated legs.

Please quote me no quotes used by those scumbags at StKilda TRS

Fair enough but I was referencing Mr Loyalty himself, Dayne “I guess I’m off the bus” Beams.

I believe that it's either pronounced like Genre or like Gina in 40 year old virgin.

Needs a couple more gym sessions, (pre-seasons) yet but, has poise and shows talent. He has done some nice things in his first couple of outings and the experience will fast track his development for the coming year(s). Plenty to like and a lot to get excited about with this group of kids, sense a lot of potential with this crop of 1st-and-2nd-year players.

Why frustrating ? It says 'here is a footballer who uses his brain and understands the game'...
