Played another great game against a top team and performed very well and showed great poise under pressure to kick goals, tackle, score involvments and so on. He now has kicked 22 goals 11 behinds during the past 7 weeks and an average of 3.15 goals per game. Not a bad effort for a 20 year old only in his 3rd year in the system. What's also impressive about him is his ability to find the footy and also his speed of the mark are very good. There is so much to like about Jack Gunston and what he brings to the table. With another pre season or two under his belt, he is going to be a super star! Look forward to seeing a lot more games from Gunston in the number 19 in the future. Exciting player! :thumbsu::)

Looked the type of player that would struggle against the bigger teams and he just rises to the occasion, exciting stuff and look forward to see how he performs in the finals.

I love his set shot technique
The way he holds the ball looks a bit weird but it works

Of course this week at some stage their will be the usual suspects calling for him to start as a sub ....

Has been great. :thumbsu:

Be interesting to see the structure when Buddy comes back in the side.

Absolutely brilliant, already a star. His decision making under pressure is first class, hope it can rub off on some of the other guys. He is our version of bartel, able to kick those important goals, whether 50 metres out or 20 metres out. I wasn't sure at the beginning, but he is worth $300K, and absolutely necessary. Perhaps you can trade Buddy, free up $1M (key defender and quick inside mid), can you get 3 first draft picks and a player, ok maybe not, the number of kids wearing his jumpers, just not right. The kid has kicked 4 goals and set others up against a tough geelong side, brilliant.

He was one of the main factors for us in that second half, while we were pushing them he was able to kick some key goals to make sure there was scoreboard pressure as well, he is just looking like such a fantastic player, his instincts around the forward line are first class, he takes a nice mark and he can kick a goal, he is a beauty :thumbsu:

Really thrilled for him.

Thought he might be the one to make way for Buddy but on current form, deserves to stay.

Shudder to think what he might be able to do with an extra 5 kgs on.

Full forward perhaps? He is the same height as Roughy 193cm.

love him love him love him, was excited when I heard we got him
Highlight was his lightning hand pass through the pack to waiting Rioli for a snap and goal, is he the best kick in the comp?

Gotta say, the kid is excellent. Seems to have some real smarts about him too. And the ability to convert set shots is gold for us. Well done Gunston

Exactly. I am falling in love with this kid, he is going to be a vital component of our future.

You guys can probably now understand the hoo hah when he walked out on the Crows.

Yeah, it sucks losing a young gun, but still your team is doing very well without him, Davis and Bock. Shows that your drafting has been excellent for a long time now that you lose those 3 players and are a top 4 team, very impressive.

Gunston was massive last night, wasn't just his goals, his handball to Cyril at that tight moment for a goal, up in the midfield he won a really important ball and got the kick away amongst the likes of selwood and kelly. He has so much upside and will be a star for us for a long time.

Think we got a live one here.

Like his composure... at one point last night he marked about 45m out and a player was in a bit of space closer to goal. He thought about it for a sec then decided nup I'll kick it, and he slotted it through. Very Dunstall like, is Gunstall. A very deserving Number 19.

Really enjoying watching this kid at the moment. He is developing into a really solid component in our side. Has real composure and self belief in his abilities, and doesn;t get over-awed with in big games. Great thing is, he is just as good in the air as he is on the ground.

Agree with Kolo, our mids have to keep this kid in mind when we go forward when Budwah comes back.

Yup, beginning to see what all the hype was about. Very pleased that the Hawks chased him so hard, looks like he'll be a seriously good player. Kicking bags in big games is the most pleasing thing of all :)
