Traded Jake Stringer [traded to Essendon]

It's a tricky one.
As he has shown glimpses of very damaging footy.
However hasn't been very good this year hence dropping value abit.

Do you want any of our players?
Goldy could be a trade but we may need him.

As I said above, he was great this year before he was injured. 2+ goals while playing more midfield minutes than in his AA year. He's got about 10 years ahead of him, already has an AA and kicked 100+ goals. You don't throw players like that away for a 2nd rounder, in a shit draft, just because they are in a form slump after coming back from 2 hamstrings and a knee inside 14 weeks.

Only way I can see us moving him on is for a top 10 pick (and even then I would debate a later top 10 pick is probably not worth trading him for when our forward line is as shit as it is already), or if we have something lined up to replace him with. After the Griffen/Toyd thing it wouldn't surprise me. Regarding Goldstein, can't see us being interested. Back injuries to rucks are killers, just ask Will Minson who went from AA to a VFL player inside a year.

Had two good years and two shitful ones. Was hyped up because he's ugly and a man child and busted through packs early on. Pretty average skills, relies a lot on his own confidence and aggro, and generally too small to be a bonafide forward target but not nimble or skilful enough to move into the midfield. I wouldn't really give a whole lot up for him and frankly he probably isn't the sorta bloke you would clamour at to get at your club.

Some interesting rumours flew around recently too, so doubt this falling out was really just over the past few weeks as was implied.

He has plenty of skills. It's running ability that has kept him out of the midfield.

Stringer's a gun and the dogs will rightfully keep him.

Would happily trade both our first rounders for him with a possible upgrade of our third pick for there second round pick. Also some talk on our board from somebody ITK who mentioned Stringer before it was on the footy show that RFC were looking into the Stringer situation at the dogs.

If he actually wants out could see a club like north go all in for him
Pick 4, 21 and either next year 2nd or goldy for stringer and pick 9

Stringer at peak is worth a top ten pick.
Stringer currently is worth 10-20 and a swap of later picks.

As someone mentioned, he is icing not the cake... Clubs like Geelong, Essendon, Richmond, Melbourne and St Kilda should be all up in this.

Seems like a decent fit for Carlton, but Kelly should be their first priority (if available).
A trade will be interesting though, clearly the Dogs aren't going to let him go for cheap but his output from the last two years doesn't really warrant a top 10 pick.

Can't see Carlton being interested.
Like it or not Stringer comes with baggage and as appealing the best of 'The Package' may be, the disruption to the whole may not be worth it.

Certainly not going to toy around with pick #3 for him or any possible deal involving it.

Stringer was basically a top 5 AFL player at 21 in 2015.

Who is more likely to reach Stringers form of 2015, Stringer or Rayner?

I don't know if he has personality issues, but if he has a young seperatated family that is certainly going to affect his footy for a while.

I'd play hard ball with Adelaide and demand pick 10 (from Lever trade) for Gibbs and pass that onto the dogs for Stringer if we were happy with where his head was at.

I see Rayner as a risky selection and getting Stringer would allow us to draft a pure mid.

Or
Gibbs to Adelaide
Stringer to Carlton
Lever to Dogs

With second or third rounders flying around to even it up

I'm not entirely sure what's happened over the past 2 seasons, and with reports coming out that he has had a fall out with the dogs, a fresh start may do him good.

I suspect the bulldogs supporters would easily expect a top 10 pick for him given he is contracted?

His 2015 form was so good, one of my favourite players that year. His explosive power from stoppages and goal kicking ability was excellent. I would love him at the bombers.

2018 first and McKenna seems a reasonable ball park.

I think you'll be in it up to your eyeballs.

Sounded like on the footy show both player and club wanted separation so it's a fire sale Victorian clubs, now you can get off schacke and make shit up about stringer instead

He went pick 5 in 2012. Why is that relevant?

Jimmy Toumpas went #4 that year. What's he worth in a trade?

The reality is that Stringer sucked last season. As I said, if he is determined to leave, I doubt you'll get a bumper offer. The Bulldogs should enforce his contract.
Toumpas an AA? Form is temporary. He is worth a fair bit and won't go cheap.

What did he say that was wrong? All of those were players recruited to play his role. He's not saying they're better than him, he's saying we have players earmarked for where we could integrate Stringer so yes, that area isn't our priority.

Your reaction is pure overs. Should have saved it for a rainier day.

Yep.

We can also add Cameron Zurhaar to that list of players.

What about the late first Adelaide will get and give up for Gibbs, and pick 3 for Stringer and pick 9?
