He just consistently doesn't put the professional off field work in to allow himself to get to that level on field.

Probably true. The only exception with Shiel is that he finished this year healthy. In fact, he was healthy most of the year, just in the 2s for a good chunk of it. His last 6-8 weeks in the AFL though were very good.
