Her ... concerns for the AFL, they needed a scalp. Were you identified as the scalp? (Such a leading question!).

Him: I was told by McLaughlin 'this is about the optics', and later on, 'you're the person' - how would it look if the highest profile person at the Club escaped sanction?

Her: Who inside the club do you trust at this point?

Him: Reid, Corcoran, the players, the staff in general. But it became hard to trust what you were being told by people in authority.

Now she's talking whether Hird is a scapegoat or not! That's not the relevant question. You have a central figure being interviewed, focus on what the individual did/ did not do or know. Not on whether they are being trapped/ hunted by others at the time.

He is answering these questions WAY too fast for him not to have been briefed on the questions.

It's only when/if she follows up that he flounders.
Had the same thought. His answers seem way too prepared.

Him: We had an obligation to the club ... may have made mistakes in 2012, but couldn't find the evidence, still trying to find it. Really good season on the field. A remarkable effort by the players.

People responsible so far-
- the Essendon football club
- the club doctor Bruce Reid for not making the program so safe or stopping Lovett Murray form taking his injection and for approving AOD9604.
- the AFL for denying procedural fairness and making it public and interfering with the ASADA investigation.
- Ian Robson for designing the club structure, for not acting on the letter Bruce Reid wrote and for not firing Dank and Robinson.
- Paul Hamilton for reporting to Ian Robson
- Dean Robinson and Stephen Dank for not always following the protocols that James ensured were put in place.
- Someone for not putting the supporting documentation on the firms.
- Liz Lucan for ridiculously saying that Hird should take responsibility (seriously what an absurd idea)
- Gil McLaughlin for preventing him from lying during the press conference
- David Evans for betraying Hird and for letting him down.
- The West Coast crowd for booing
- Andrew Demtriou for protecting the AFL
- Paul Little for failing to agree with Hird and making mistakes in his administration.
- Bomber for not doing more.
- James Hird for trusting the above and being too loyal to them when they were letting him and his trust down.
