Could say the same about your team a few years ago, a decade ago.
How quickly things can change.
Hopefully Hird's still coach by then....

200 posts in a couple of hours says otherwise. Bemusement doesn't do that
Leigh Matthews, Kevin Sheedy.
But no, Hird is certain to be the next Voss, Watson.
Still love my sig!!
My opinion isn't much different to quite a lot of Essendon supporters who are questioning if Hird is the right man for the job.you signature is just so apt for the opinions of yourself and opposition supporters in this thread
Time will tell, indeed.
....Time will tell whether this is just another poor decision.
I think I could find supporters of a few teams who still hate us.You're correct, but as it stands you're neither threatening or hated.
Risky yes - ridiculous - only time will tell. You seem fairly certain a coach will fail before they even have the job. That to me is ridiculous. The Hird appointment is a ridiculous ploy by your board to get supporters onside after the Knights debacle.
Knights didn't have the right gameplan - and the parts he was supposed to implement this year he failed miserably.Knights didn't have enough top line experience and Hird has even less. Just ludicrous.
Harden up.Why are there Hawthorn trolls masquerading as moderators on this board?
So sick of this myth.
Leigh Matthews, Malcolm Blight and Ron Barassi coached all right.
Paul Roos didn't spend much time as an assistant and he went pretty good as a player I would have thought.
What about all those long serving assistants who have failed as coaches - Knights, Frawley, Schwab, Connolly - the list goes on and on.
It certainly does and it certainly has. Don't kid yourself.
And that's not the end of the big news regarding Essendon's coaching ... or maybe the news is already out ... ???
Funny you say that:I was really hoping for Chocco but it seems the club is more interested in appeasing disgruntled members and getting some of that Obama-style "hope" around the club.
Knights had experience, how did that turn out? He was ****ing useless, was worth finishing 14th and spending $1m to get rid of that richmond cancer out of the clubbut without the experience behind him they risk creating a Voss 2.0
