Must have missed that, been away from the AFL feed for a few days - fantastic news! Building a seriously solid backline now, and TBH - I find it difficult to see where all of Frawley, Birchall and Stratton fit into this mix, a good problem for the 2018 selectors.

He's agreed for further 3 years which is just fine. I hope he works extra hard in the off season and comes back and has a full season of what he's done in the last 10 weeks.

Will never leave Hawthorn, absolutely loves it at the club.. they've nurtured him through a rat bag period, given him the chance to develop organically as a man and now we're seeing the fruits of a guy starting to feel like his home is on the footy field.
Don't be surprised to see him as an all-Australian next year, he is heading towards the peak of his powers and last night (and last 3 months really) was the just the intro.

How good is Clarko too? Loved what he said about Sicily last week. He really backs his players to turn themselves around.

There was a question last week whether the few run in's he has had with our own players on-field may cause some dissent.
After seeing Hodgey save one of his biggest man hugs for Sis and a have a little chat with him post game last night gave me the impression of how revered he would be at the club especially with the older blokes with thicker skin. Hot headed but you can bet loyal to the core. One to take into the trenches with you.

Wait a minute. I thought we were supposed to drop him after he got unsettled by Lamb and Carlton. Now he has a good week and he's great again? Surely BF cannot be that fickle.

Last night was the near perfect response from Sic. Can't wait to see him getting better and better over the years
His 'explosive-headedness' is actually really positives in my eyes. It shows he actually gives a shit; and I think if he can keep learning to channel that passion into leadership qualities, he could be a potential club leader

It's phenomenal the change we've witnessed in half a season.
Back in May I was hoping he could get his attitude right and maybe we'd have a mercurial HFF that would go missing most weeks, but win the occasional game off his own boot when he pulled down a few contested marks against the oppositions fourth best defender.
The guy is an absolute weapon. His marking, his kicking (I did not see that coming!). He's clean below his knees, he's evasive. He's fast!
He has gotten so good, so quickly, I almost feel he's a lock for a HBF on the 2018 AA team.
This was a guy I was hoping could fill that "fifteenth best player" in the 22. His ceiling is enormous. He could be top ten player in the comp good!!!
