Jamie Graham's knee

I was planning to watch that. I assumed it was going to be up for about one minute, which meant I had plenty of time to watch it.

IT GOES FOR FIVE SECONDS AND WHEN I TURN MY HEAD THE FOOTBALL RESULTS ARE ON

can someone find the footage of it, would be interesting to see if the descriptions are fitting to what actually happened..

Was arm wrestling a guyat a party when someone walked past and kicked the table, one of the bones in his forearm came straight out past his elbow straight towards me

After seeine Jamie's injury a few times on TV today I can honestly say it looked worse than seeing the arm close up.

A longtime captain coach of North Launceston (forgot his name) had a simalar thing happen to him years ago and he never played again. Was also frequenting the same surgeon at the same and I spoke to him about his injury. He said the pain was so bad he passed out and the doc (one of the best orthopedic docs around) had said it was possible he would struggle to walk on that leg when he was 50+.

I scincerly hope Jamie gets all the best treatment and prognosis. At worst he would make a fantastic coach later down the track.

From what I recall he was really well liked by the Eagles. He won best clubman and retired partly because he has custody of his younger sister (not sure of the back story). Really hope the Eagles get behind him and help him. By the sounds of it he could really do with there assistance during his rehabilitation.

Absolute shocking injury.
Was sickened by it, dude who did it just keep playing on without any regard for Jamie screaming next to him. I understand going for the ball, but that was plain and simply sliding right into his leg, the leg getting caught under.

Something needs to be done.

All the best to Jamie, had a short career with the Eagles but from all accounts was a top bloke.

I tried looking away when channel ten brought it up but when I looked back I still got an eyeful of something that's just not meant to happen. Best of luck with recovery Jamie.

Regarding banning of sliding unfortunately I think it will take a career ending injury to a gun player like swan, albett etc (touch wood never to happen) before something is done. Look at teams like the hawks who seem to do it at every contested possession. I don't care what rules need to come In to resolve it and frustrations from situations like when its wet, both players sliding etc but when a bloke has gathered possession of the ball you can't just slide in low with the aim of taking his legs out. It's a bigger issue than head high contact IMO

I dont think that particular instance happens "all the time" in the AFL. Depending on your definition of "all the time" i guess...

I may be wrong but I dont think AFL players would be as wreckless as that WAFL bloke was, they go in hard but they are still pretty good at controlling the aggression. He just cannoned into Grahams legs low and at full tilt with his whole body.

Jesus that's bad. Worse than Hentschel's a few years ago.

Strong youtube username btw.

Agreed, chuckle-inducing username.

On a more serious note, I echo the wishes for Jaymie to get through this as quickly and with as less permanent damage as is possible with such an injury. I always liked him in our line-up and respected him for doing the right thing by his family

That Subi player should be taken to court

I'd belt his brains out if I was Grahams teammate.
Would not be able to control myself.

Wasn't really Danny Hughes' fault - have seen similar incidents plenty of times in every match ... just one of those things I guess.

Truly sickening injury though - all the best to Jaymie and hope that he recovers from this and it doesn't impede his life too much (I think it is almost a given that he will never play footy again sadly).

It almost completely folded over on itself. When i first seen the contest i didn't think anything of it coz you see it just about every game of footy. Then they Showed the slow mo replay and it was just sickening to watch...

All the officials, colts and reserves were gathered around him as they loaded him into the ambulance such is the respect the bloke has
