Mostly carried by the white activists who were out for a walk and just joined in….

Gives them their exercise before the next rent a crowd outting.

They have the same aims - delegitimise and tear down Australia. And replace it with……. They never say.

Here you go with the “rent a crowd” horseschitte again.

Determined not to see they might actually believe in justice and human rights for all, aren’t you.

What exactly unnerves you so much about the notion of someone making (oftentimes considerable) sacrifices in their life to attend a protest on a topic about which they feel strongly?

(If it was a cause you agree with, would they suddenly cease to be a “rent a crowd”? I suspect so.

Or are you genuinely troubled by any public expression of passion? Here’s the thing. I have strong feelings and opinions on politics, but I’m not much of an activist for a number of reasons. But I’m fine to leave the protesters to their protests without feeling the need to try to undermine their sincerity.)

Why are there Palestine and Pride flags at the protest. The mind boggles.
It’s pure stupidity.
Most indigenous people (not the inner city ones) are rabidly anti homosexual and not much more to be said about Hamas opinions on gay people.

Then you have the Palestine protestors who are actually occupying the old Judea that somehow think they are aligned with genuine Australian Indigenous peoples.

Everyone sees through these idiots. Barely a brain between them.

Keep on protesting though. The more public they are, the more nails go into the Labor/Greens/Teals coffins.

You could call it the Australian paradox, on January 26 we're told to move on and not dwell on the past yet a couple of months later on ANZAC Day we're solemnly instructed to never forget. It must be a touch confusing to newcomers.
The difference being Anzac / remembrance is about remembering what our service women and men did to retain our free way life. Not dwelling or lamenting on.

Australia day is viewed by some in lament/ dwelling/ brooding from what the colonials did.

And this is where the push back comes from. Everyone acknowledges the wrongs of the past and that this day reminds of the hurt.

But Jan and Joe public can't do anything about the past. Yes change the date, but is anyone gonna forget the abhorrent colonisation? Not on your Nelly! Lament will continue regardless

Some can't help themselves though like the op who obviously brought it up again coz Schneebly has an axe to grind.

Anti west, anti Christianity and anti capitalism.

Then they go home to their rented flat in Fitzroy (probably paid for by Mummy and Daddy) and congratulate themselves and on how righteous they are.

Our Anzac's did nothing to defend our freedoms, to paraphrase Eric Bogle they were blown right back to Australia by the Turks.

Have no problem doubting their sincerity… for most it’s their only chance to mingle with the indigenous there as they normally don’t see them in their multi story apartment blocks when they come down for a trendy over priced coffee. ….

Because of solidarity amongst different groups of oppressed peoples. At the rally I went to, a Yugarapul man spoke about how his people and Palestinians are both victims of genocide, but the genocide of his people was in the past and the Palestinian one is happening now. He then led the crowd in a chant of Free Palestine. Later a representative of the local Palestinian community spoke about the great respect and solidarity he and his community had for the local First Nations people and his desire to learn what remains of their language.

Ireland and South Africa are two countries that have a fair idea about what attempted genocide looks like, it's no coincidence that they're leading the charge against Israel.

They have at least 50 different languages. What a moron.

You sound like you speak from experience. Are you trying to assuage your guilty conscience over living in an apartment block and buying overpriced coffee by blaming others for it?

No those dastardly Turks were about to change our way of life by... fighting battles in their own part of the world, I guess.
Even the Russian Windsors got a go at f***ing us over, Tsar Nicholas wanted his warm weather port.

I wouldn’t live in Victoria for a start and prefer living with real people not the inner city echo chamber …

One thing I do have is no guilt for something I haven’t done… infact I’ve probably helped more indigenous in my work life than you have met.

😂 not even Japan in WW2 planned to invade Australia (confirmed by the Japanese PM after the war).

The diggers invading Turkey in 1915 were certainly not fighting for Australian freedom, Nor against the Boers, or in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and the disgrace that was Afghanistan. Don’t give me the rubbish that the Anzacs were fighting for freedom. They never were and they never have.
And this is where the push back comes from. Everyone acknowledges the wrongs of the past and that this day reminds of the hurt.

The deputy leader of the party who wants to be the new government today said the country was like an uninhabited planet when the first fleet rocked up.
