If you are right about the cap space then you are correct. I still hold out hope Polec is holding out to see what Lycett gets paid when he arrives.

We had alot of cap space prior to signing Ollie. Dunno how much of a pay increase he got, but I assume it was significant.

Also another large chunk of that cap space has been put to the side in an attempt to bring in Lycett to the club.

How much is left for paying overs for Polec, I dunno.

The interesting discussion is would you rather lose Polec but get a first round pick and cap space for lycett. Or keep Polec and cant afford lycett and obviously wont receive a first rounder.

I think if the club is looking at it like that, they are probably comfortable losing polec wether we agree with that or not.

Anyone that says that Polec is 'easily replaceable' loses my respect for their football knowledge.
^ agree he's not easily replacable but that's not to say he's irreplacable. We're a better side with Polly playing.
He's had a very very good year but if we don't get a 1st rounder for him it's a big loss.
People have mentioned Barry or Amon as poor fall back replacements i'm more thinking of Farrell, but after only 2 games
it's more realistic to say dreaming of. Dreaming also that Polly stays and Farrell turns into a beauty.

I'd be comfortable with 5 for him if it is what it takes, he's right in the good age profile for that kind of deal but I don't think he'd want to, probably be better going 3 then going for another 4 yearish on big money later on.

Its an interesting scenario. This is the one player (along with probably Wines) that will get us another pick in this years super draft. I love Polec, but perhaps the club are thinking ok we can get hold of Norths pick9/10/11 whatever it ends up being. We can the package this with our pick 11/12/13 and try and get inside the top 5 with a view to Rankine/Lukosius/Rozee.

Sometimes you need to make these bold moves. I am not suggesting its right or wrong and we may not know for some time.

Agree it would be very hard to replace Polec's output on the wing, guys like Amon, Barry etc. haven't been able to prove themselves at AFL level but personally I'd really like to see Motlop playing full time on the wing. He doesn't regularly rack up possessions like Polec does but if he can build form in that position and play more like he did in his 150th against St Kilda could he be a potential replacement for Jared's role?

Have you seen his Mrs ?? No wonder he lets her call the shots.

His Mrs is so much better looking than him that cashiers put the plastic dividers down in the middle of their groceries.

Check out her insta, she's the definition of high maintenance.

He'll do whatever the hell she tells him to do.
