I'm glad that this obsession will now move to the Carlton Board.

I've rarely seen such immature claims, denials, withdrawals and obsessive postings and the such, than your efforts FF97.

I can tell you, I was in Brisbane for the U16's champs in 2007 and watched him play, and watched all the games mostly from an objective viewpoint. The only way to be more objective is to get to more than a few games. I'd honestly like to get to more games, to try and increase the "depth of my knowledge" which I'm happy to say Footyman is streets ahead of me in that regard.

I'm also more than happy to see that Jaryd was rookied today to be honest.

I went into this thread to my shock saw it's 9 page full... so i thought great... this should be full of info on our new recruit... instead... I realised this is Bigfooty...

I would like to thank all you posters who contributed to this thread. It has been a while since I had such a good laugh. Classic one liners are rare these days and it is good see posters refrain from abuse. I hope Jaryd gets game time into the future so we can continue these discussions.

Jaryd wasconsidred 2 years ago by many as a top 3 draft pick prospect. Carlton are extremely lucky to have picked himup this further back. Adelaide were almost certanly going to pick himup with there 1st pick in the RD.

It seems everyone who went to training walked away amazed by his skill, and the fact that he fell into the rookie draft.

Makes me wonder how bad his temper must really be. The clubs must have gone cold on him for a reason after he starred in the Under 16's.

Interesting that he was touted as a top 3 draft pick only 2 years ago to falling all the way to the first round of the RD. I am aware that he travelled overseas one year, that obviously would have had some impact but that's a real fall out of favour!

He missed the last two games at the Knights in 2008 on Student Exchange, he was gone from late Aug or Sept 2008 until December 2008. Obviously he had APS footy with St Kevins throughout the past few years but he hardly missed as much footy as it was made out he had!

So what's his problem? Attitude? He seems like a hard trainer so is he perhaps too aggressive? Kicking issues?

Yes they were.. and they were extremely pissed off. They were also pissed off when we didn't pick Talia...

Attitude seems to be part of the issue.
these days recruiters look for players they can mould and develop into great players, rather than already built and develped talent like jaryd is.(i.e picking up athletic basketbetblers over talented plauyers who have a few fixable flaws)
This may hav been part of the reaon why he was passed up by 60 odd picks.

Kicking issues where the biggest fault i had with him. Simply misses too many targets by foot.
