A lot of talk that it was dependent on Remco getting to Ineos.
Plapp is signed, sealed and delivered for Jayco - The main reason he is moving is his Olympic's dream is over - The more interesting development is that Postleberger who I believe was contracted posted on instagram that he is leaving Jayco. Could there be another biggish signing joining the team.

How many spots are available for next season with Plapp on board & with Postleberger leaving? Hopefully a further strong signing to come

I don't understand why his Olympic dream being over means he would move to Jayco?

Simple - Track cyclists tend to ride for Ineos, QS or Jayco - he was offered big money by Ineos which can now be offered by Jayco. And he will be a leader at Jayco.

This still isn't clear to me. So Plapp's track dream being over means Jayco can now offer big money? or Plapp's track dream being over means he wants leadership on the road which INEOS can't provide?

It's simple at the time Plapp got his first contract there were three main suitors - Ineos, UAE and Jayco - Plapp made it very clear that he wanted to focus on the 2024 so it was either Ineos or Jayco - Ineos blew Jayco out of the water with their offer, although UAE offred more - Now that it seems his Olympic dream is over it makes sense to move to Jayco where he will have more opportunities.

Official!🚨

No coincidence the announcement was made on Melbourne Cup Day and that Gerry Ryan played a pivotal role in getting the deal over the line. And its been overlooked that it's a four year deal which means a longer commitment from Gerry and Alula. If only, Gigante used common sense and originally joined Jayco, instead of pissing her talent up the wall by going to Tibco and Movistar.

He's a great get, suits the team culture, should lead Ardennes and one week races for now. Also needs to get his TT back in order. But I think this cost Gerry more than anticipated given the press release. The wheeling and dealing of contracted riders between teams is not at Premier League football level but no doubt some owners are seeing the benefits in selling off contracts to create revenue.

One day racing is the great unknown for Plapp - I'd like to get more exposure this year as he is one rider I wish to take to the Olympics.

Jayco have their best team for years and should be aiming for 30+ wins - Ewan,Groenewegen, Yates, Schmid, Matthews, Berhe, Englehardt, Plapp, Stewart, Pena, Foldager, Walscheid, Dunbar and Zana can win races.

Hindley will be an interesting case - He will leave Bora if he has to again miss the Giro, and yet can bet your bottom dollar that Jayco will chase him, however, they would be better to renew Yates who is a more versatile rider.

Grondahl Jansen is a tealented rider but he's barely been on the park in the last three years - PCS has S.Yates listed for the Giro - The team just finished their pre-season planning meeting and my information is yates may be at the TDF - Ewan and Groenewegen - Onw ill ride the Giro and the Vuelta and the other the TDF.

Groenewegen confirmed for Tour. Yates and Ewan for the Vuelta. Ewan won't get a lot of support if they're backing a Yates GC win, which they really should be doing. If Hindley isn't racing it his main challenge will be Geraint Thomas who he can definitely beat.

You will find that Yates will ride the TDF - Splitting up Groenwegen and Ewan should be easy with only race in dispute being the UAE Tour - Jayco have enough talent in their team to support GC and sprints in a GT.

Well tell that to PCS who have Yates down at the Giro.

Giro is the better decision if we're considering his podium chances. He's almost certain not to podium at the Tour barring a couple of crashes to Roglic/Pog/Remco/Jonas. Giro he probably heads in as one of the main contenders to take it out.

PCS copied an unsubstantiated rumour in an Italian newspaper - At this stage Yates is going to the TDF - You gotta consider the whole team and other rider's objectives when you make these decisions.

Jayco team for the TDU is Yates, Ewan, Harper, Plapp. O'Brien, Stewart and Hepburn - There are some nuances behind the selections but there are also some lomg term considerations - Stewart and O'brien were always riding the TDU because there is a World Cup track cycling event in Adelaide in February and Stewart will be Ewan's lead out rider - I'm surprised that yates is riding the TDU because he's not ideally suited by Willunga Hill but it points to him riding a similar program to 2023 - The most signidicant thing about the team is the ommission of Durbridge and Hamilton - There is every chance they will be at different teams in 2025 - Finally, Ewan wants Bling as part of his sprint train which does suit Bling's characteristics, so it will be interesting to see if this happens often during the season.

What is everyone’s predictions regarding team lineup for the grand tours? What will Yates target?
Looks like Ewan and Dunbar for the Giro and then Yates and Groenewegen for the Tour. The Vuelta parcourse isn't suited to either sprinter so we'll see.

Giro could be Dunbar, Zana, Demarchi, Ewan, Stewart, Walscheid, Hepburn and Grondahl-Jansen.
TDF could be Groenewegen, Reinders, Mezgec, Schmid, Plapp, Yates, Harper and Maas.
Vuelta could be Matthews, Englehardt, DePena, Berhe, Durbridge, Dunbar, Craddock and Foldager.

Yates was always riding the TDF, despite misleading press reports - The Yates brothers are both targetting the World's on a suitable parcour - Interesting that Matthews was interviewed by Daniel Benson and there is no guarantee he will ride the TDF - At this stage he is riding PN and the Classics - He says he wants to ride the World's BUT he will not get around on a parcour that has 4600 metres of elevation.

In off road news Jayco is beefing up their PR with the appointment of Siabh O'Shea a respected cycling journalist to their media department. She will be joined by recently retired Jess Allen who will do PR, some DSing, and will look after the Aussie under 19's team when they tour Europe.

My guess:

Giro: Dunbar, Zana and Plapp as the climbers; Scotson and Hepburn as the workhorses; Stewart, O'Brien and Ewan the train
Tour: Yates, Harper and Schmid as the climbers; Juul-Jensen and Craddock as the workhorses; Welscheid, Mezgec and Groenewegen the train.
Vuelta: Zana, Péna and Hamilton the climbers; Maas and Grondahl Jansen the workhorses; De Marchi, Matthews and Engelhardt as opportunists.
