Wouldn't be surprised to see him go interstate. He's a good kid and I think a few things this year might have pushed him to go a new direction.

Great talent, would love him at Collingwood but I think he'll be in SA or WA if decides to leave.

I thinks he is gone, they'll find a good trade for him and good luck to him.

If he didn't get sick and was healthy, he'd probably be a premiership player.

Anyway he won't be now (Probably)

Would have thought he was in line to get games next year.

Think the club missed the opportunity to play him more often this year.

If not for injury and illness, good chance he would be a premiership player by now.

No guarantees though. Howe, Langford, Hartung and O'Rouke all thereabouts. Fair enough for him to leave when he is a lock for best 22 at most other clubs.

Has been some word over the past few days that we are into him and then this article. Chances of him coming our way? We should obviously have some good currency to get some trades done.

Such as.....

Something has happened behind the scenes.Haven't seen him in any of the celebrations unlike last year.

Hope its something he and the club can get over.

Ridiculously talented. More so than any of our other youngsters.

Say it ain't so.

Leaving Hawthorn is ALWAYS a massive mistake. Why in this day and age do players not understand this?? Pick up a history book you fools!

Pick 18 + Jed Anderson > Pick 14

Hello Dangerfield

The Cheney/Lowden trade last year looks like it favoured the Crows a little... maybe a sweetener for Dangerfield negotiations if Geelong don't want to pay Adelaide fair value

I'm sure we'll give you pick 18 + Jed Anderson for Dangerfield

It's a better deal than the pick 14 you'd get as compensation for losing Danger as a free agent
Ah, I see. But dangers going to Geelong for a pack of cheese crackers already. Sorry.

You know, because Adelaide need to show goodwill (as per latest thought process on Geelong board).

:(Well i am shocked. Is it lack of game time or something else. I cannot believe it, lost for words here. I hate this time of the year

Yep, me too. Feel like a self imposed media ban for a few weeks to save me a whole heap of stress!

Jed has had a few injuries this year and his form hasn't been that great IMO which is why he's not getting senior games. No doubt there will be a place for him when he's fit and firing. But, yeah, could be more to it maybe.

Reading the quotes in the story, you can't help sensing there is more to it. I don't know a thing and maybe the Hawks are just a very accommodating administration.
Maybe. We'll want a pick under 25 to let go of him I would think. Personally unless it's overs I would deny, he'll win his spot next year.

You guys are so mean Free Dangerfield :(:(:(

Contracted.

As Wrighty said, he is only leaving if the club is handsomely compensated for him.

End of the day it's disappointing to see Jed think about leaving. I have really high hopes for him at Hawthorn. He was close in 2013 and then basically wrote off his own 2014 by catching pneumonia.

2015 preseason he looked absolutely primed and you can tell the club and himself have put so much time into his conditioning but for whatever reason he struggled at AFL level this year. Correct me if I'm wrong but he didn't set VFL on fire either for a while until playing some good games towards the end of the season.

Hawks need Jed to take the club forward when the older brigade start retiring (which has already started). He is one of the few young players on our list that has elite potential.
