John and Bruce are playing football.

Bruce hits John in the face.
John says you hit like a girl Bruce, you big fairy.

Bruce gets one week for a strike.
John gets three weeks for hurting Bruces feelings.
I’ll take things that didn’t happen for $200 please

If only Finlayson had a massive coke habit instead

There is clearly one set of rules for lesser-known non-Victorian players and another for high-powered veteran coaches with mates inside AFL House, writes David Penberthy.

Murdoch scribes demanding fairness, thanks for the laugh.

Do we know if Finlayson directed what he said at a gay person?

As for what AC said. I've never heard CS said as a hateful slur to a gay person. To me (and I'm sure to the vast majority of people) it's the same as saying c%&#, prick, bastard, mf, etc, etc (c%#& being at the pointy end). Also, one of AC's players had just been absolutey flattened in a late, dirty bump (brain fade from Webster). AC's punishment was probably fair enough. Let's not go to silly places.

Not at all, educate the kids. Grown men know what’s right and wrong. He made an error as we all have done. He doesn’t need to be embarrassed by being sent to a pride course.
Grown men know whats right and wrong ,eh?

Like Martin Bryant, Julian Knight, Harvey Weinstien, Wayne Carey, Bomber Thompson?

That might ‘know’…but do they care?

Education develops the ability to ‘self-judge’…to not sleep at night.

He doesn’t need to be embarrassed by being sent to a pride course.
That's not the source of his embarrassment though is it?

Wouldn't you be more embarrassed being seen to abuse someone like that in public? Basically in the workplace? A little lecture on why what you did is wrong isn't the worst of it at all.

It's not about him using the slur against someone who might be gay.
So he didn't say it to a gay person? He got 3 weeks just for saying it... to a straight guy?
And I get what you're saying- Whether he said it to a gay person or a straight person you believe the punishment should be the same?

You really think deep down he is worried about this?

If it was proven Fin said it to someone Fin knew was Gay, it would be much much higher.

Of the 1020 bag snatches committed in Australia last year, 20 were committed by those who signed off as LGBTQ+ on police reports.

This constitutes roughly 2% of the total.

Therefore, bag-snatching LGBTQ+ ‘s are a militarised, institutionalised force that we must look to control.

Can’t have bag-snatchers taking over society…
Bagsnatcher sounds like a homophobic slur 😊
