Yeah you really pegged him. After 2 games in losing sides, in a brand new team, in a horridly dysfunctional forward line, with a wife who is getting treatment for cancer he has underperformed. Your prediction came true. He hasn't kept up his goal average and his kicking has gone to shit.

Yes, it says that even KPF's who are proven performers in other systems are spectacular failures in Hinkley and Bassett's systems, so we shouldn't be blaming the players.

He's very lazy. If it doesn't happen the first time for him he has no second effort or mongrel in him, probably why the Giants let him go for nothing.
Not going to change that a guy who's entire game is built around lead and marking is going to struggle in our forward line.
Also comments that he's one of the too good for SANFL but can't do anything at AFL is false. He averages 2 a game as a forward for GWS. He's clearly an AFL player

Hes a handy 3rd forward at AFl, unfortunately we dont have the big forwards to draw the key defenders and leave him space to lead.
Apart from the one video from Philthy above, how did he score his goals?

Our problem was playing three second tall forwards and expecting that to work. One needs to be the lead and that ain’t Finlayson. Let Jez roam and let Todd be the main man.

Thought the Maggies forward line worked well yesterday, however defence was'nt up to scratch . Finalyson benefited by quick direct movement and delivery into the forward line as should be the case. He got them by leading , crumbing a couple and even clunked a few in the air which is unusual cause that's not his forte. Mixed bag showing his versatility and how he should be used, best when allowed to roam as opposed to a fixed key possie.

Think he will be , but he's not a a magic fix. He should be that 2 goal a game forward , playing high half forward and not a kpf role.

He didn't play well in the first games, but to play Mayes as a full forward instead of him against Melbourne was ridiculous.

It's actually wild that Finlayson had no issues kicking goals for GWS but when he cannot do it here, we drop him and say his effort is bad.

It wasn't his goal kicking why the dropped him. It was his refusal to run defensively and set up in the correct position in the zone they've been attempting to use.

Play him as a lead up forward not a bomb it on his head forward.
