WADA & CAS are just trolls.
And ASADA went full potato.

WADA & CAS are just trolls.
This whole sorry saga has highlighted just how poor of an organisation the AFL is. They can't follow a set of procedures and rules because they are so used to being Kings of their own shallow swimming pool and making it up as they go along. You could tell they hated ASADA then WADA being around because not only could they uncover what was hiding under the rug, the AFL didn't like being held accountable and being told what to do.Preeeeeeety much.
The fact that the AFL did NOT have a plan in place contingent on the outcome of the appeal says a lot about how contemptible they are as an organisation.
Bigfooty, one week ago: "Jobe Watson should hand the medal back, regain some dignity"
Bigfooty today: "What? Watson handed the medal back? What a disgusting attempt to get PR. He should have handed it back the minute he was charged with an offence, an it's entirely his fault!!"
No, I am justifiably annoyed at the dithering and bullshit, followed by the praise of Jobe for doing something that was inevitable anyway, after unreasonable delay and under cover of another big news story.you're just looking for something to be angry about if you are upset that Jobe returned it later than you think might have maybe been appropriate
Good on Jobe for FINALLY giving it up, but it's not some brave and honourable act.

All parties had several years to consider this very situation. Not just a few weeks. YEARS.
There's no honour or bravery here. But the emotional Essendon supporters will hastag their way through it and claim the moral highground.
In any case, the facts are clear and repeating them yet again won't change the entrenched mindset of some people.

When Judd was helpless whilst Captain of a team with a Drug problem, he left... he did not apply the vein popping belt as some "Class Acting" captain did,Better then "Pressure point" and "chicken wing" Judd.

I had no idea you got free tracksuits out of it all. Carry on.Is that so?
Got a hell of a loss coming soon, but that aside have just signed the richest apparel deal in Australian sporting history, have the best training facilities in the game, some of the highest sponsorship AND managed to negotiate a pretty schmick looking draw to go with what looks like a bloody good list of players...
Seems like the 'people like me' are doing a pretty good job.
How does that impact Jobe?
It's not his medal - it has nothing to do with him.
Can anyone offer any reason why Watson should not be stripped of his All Australian gong for 2012?
What other awards did he win in 2012? Any media prizes (including cash awards)? Essendon B&F would be tricky but someone like Zaharakis should be awarded.
As in any other international professional sport, he ought to be stripped of any award he won in the year he was found to have cheated.

By not re-awarding the medal it allows revisionist historians to declare "that was the year Prince Jobe abdicated in the spirit of the game, to preserve the honour of the award that was tainted when a foreign body known as CAS interfered with the AFL's own verdict on murky drugs allegations".
It's about perpetuating doubt where there is none.
Why couldn't Jobe keep it for as long as all avenues were being played out? There's an emotional attachment there for him, why can't he hold it for as long as he wants. The AFL could've taken it off him YEARS ago. They didn't. Spit a few chips their way while you're at it.
Again though, has absolutely nothing to do with Jobe.
I agree that is the likely (in fact almost certain) end result but it just goes to show what an amateur organisation the AFL can be. Stripping players of all awards won during the year they were found to have taken PED is the most straightforward part of the entire saga. Letting sentiment, the player's family and his popularity weigh on the issue is amateur and embarrassing.Too hard basket is my guess, the only one most of the public and media cared about was the Brownlow and that's now done. The AFL will either award it or void it, and thus should end the bulk of coverage of the saga - just in time for the AFL Draft.
All avenues played out a month ago.
The options should have been explored much, much earlier.
But obviously to the AFL, the EFC and some supporters, and to Jobe, he is only "CAS guilty" - which to them is far inferior to "AFL innocent".
This decision was probably the only uncomplicated thing about the whole affair and they blew it up into "hardest decision anyone has ever had to make".
Utterly ridiculous.
