God why are guys so worried about what the media say or their mates that barrack for other teams? I couldn't give a shit what other people say or think personally. The only reason I would care would be that other players would think and that it may effect attracting players in the future.

I like said in the past....they can laugh all they want and us having more cash will only mean we may come after their player next. No doubt some of the Pies supporters were laughing after us failing last year....now we're driving his $$ up and perhaps putting a lot of strain on them retaining players and possibly acquiring Lynch. If we don't get De Goey we will be driving someone else's price up next. North having plenty of $$ isn't good for any opposition team trying to retain their players.....and as Twinkletoes said above if it were one of our players we'd be getting nervous.

Someone will take the cash eventually. Its just a matter of who and when. Don't worry if we try and fail apart from the latter reason I mentioned in the first <P>.

Agree.

Would much prefer to be known as a BOLD club than a club that doesn’t take chances for fear of rejection. Most players don’t leave their respective clubs so North have absolutely nothing to be emabarrased about.

Stay away North Melbourne. The shit campaigner tried to blame me for breaking his hand, while he was punching on at the pub.

I've even had to go into witness protection.

Youll be right.

Come to North and Josh Kelly's dog will be here to keep you company in 12 months.

Like all who said North were nuts offering the amount of $ they did for Kelly. Fast forward and now everyone thinks he’s worth every cent. I have faith in the club making the right calls.
Of course. If this offer is true, we are paying for De Goey in 3 years, not what he is now. With his size, strength, athleticism and ability he has the potential to be a top five mid. Needs to build that tank though.

Haven't watched enough of him this year to determine this big spike in performance he's apparently shown. But it's hard to argue with our talent identification based on the long range targets we pursued last year.

Still not a fan of players moving only for money (with no other motivational drivers) but that's just my personal viewpoint.

I’ve asked it before. What the hell gives with the media with regard to North Melbourne all of a sudden? It seems every move we make attracts a positive spin from them lately. Last night Jon Ralph (of all people) was speaking glowingly of North’s attempt to land De Goey. Even if we fail, he believes it’s great that we “keep swinging”. Last year, he adopted the polar opposite narrative with regard to Dusty (mmm, Tigers supporter, I smell a rat now) and Josh Kelly. Let’s face it, really, the only difference between this year and the last two years is that we have had much less injuries. Everything else has flowed on from that.

Michael Gleeson is Collingwoods man at The Age.

It's not as if we have the power to control other clubs leaking fabricated or non fabricated stories.

What I can take from this is that Collingwood are getting impatient.

Attention sub-editors and social media posters.

I am hereby trademarking the following headlines for if this acquisition comes to fruition;

"Jordan the Joey/Jordan da Joey"
"Joey to Goey (to NMFC)"
"Jordan is Goey"
"Goey, Goey...Gone!"
"Goey the five million dollar Joey!"

If you use these or any clear derivatives, I will invoice you accordingly.

Thank you and good day.

They can see that the worm has turned. And that next year, in our 150th year, we’ll be a top 4 side.
They’re sucking up now to be at the front when interviews are being handed out then.

What role will ex-Collingwood power broker have in luring De Goey away
SEN - Thu, 28th Jun 2018 -

Former Essendon captain Tim Watson is interested to see what role former Collingwood director of football Graeme Allen has in North Melbourne’s attempts to lure Jordan De Goey.

It was reported yesterday the Roos will offer the Collingwood forward a massive $5 million dollar deal at the end of the season.

The day before the De Goey deal was reported, it was revealed by The Age that North Melbourne has quietly secured Allen’s services as part of their targeting of big players in the off-season.

Allen resigned as Collingwood’s director of footy not long after being appointed to the role and Watson believes it’s all connected.

“The other part about this discussion that I find really interesting is the involvement of Graeme (Gubby) Allen,” he told *SEN Breakfast.*

“He got to Collingwood and he got told to move on and now we are believing he is instrumentally piecing together this deal as a consultant for the North Melbourne Football Club and taking someone from Collingwood.

“I’m interested in the mechanics of all of this.

“I can see it as an opportunity for him to work against an organization that he had been employed to work for.”

Having said that, Watson believes De Goey should strongly consider remaining at the Pies.

“I think there’s a real critical question that needs to be answered by his management, what’s the best thing for Jordan de Goey right now and his level and age of maturity,” he said.

“Even if it’s short term at Collingwood, everything seems to have been fastened down, he’s got great relationships, he’s got that cacoon built around him, is that better for him now to build a stronger foundation than to move on and take the big money now where there’s going to be big pressure on him.”

"North fans to get gooey over De Goey"

Reckon De Goey would do well to look at how we handled the Simpkin incident vs how Collingwood /media handles his stuff.

If * were chasing De Goey I wonder if Timmeh would think he should stay at Collingwood?
