Herald Sun reporting he has assured the Saints he is staying.
It’s Rowan Marshall you bananasWhat did I say?!

Think you’re on the money. With Saints now guaranteed Band 1 compo if he leaves I'd almost pull the offer if I was the Saints like the kangas did with McKay.
Battle is a good solid player but the position the Saints are in I'd bet on pick 5 rather than Battle.
Hawks should walk away. Let him go to NorfWith Saints now guaranteed Band 1 compo if he leaves I'd almost pull the offer if I was the Saints like the kangas did with McKay.

For all the talk about Academies and F/S picks it's crazy that no-one's mentioning the impact that compo picks are having on the first round. It feels a much easier situation to resolve too (just protect the first round from compensation picks for Free Agency ala the NFL).Battle - Band 1
Tells you all you need to know about the farce that is the AFL trading and drafting system. It's even got Ned Guy as a key figure and we all know he was a farce himself at the Pies!

Can't be Hawks. Jordan Roughead doesn't care for Battle
I thought it was JarrydGood thing that Jarrod Roughead likes him then…
It is Jarryd RougheadGood thing that Jarrod Roughead likes him then…
Having a dyslexic moment..I thought it was Jarryd
Then all academies have to be in the same position. Don't touch the first round, 18 picks only. For all the talk about Academies and F/S picks it's crazy that no-one's mentioning the impact that compo picks are having on the first round. For 6 years, sounds good to me.If the price is $1m a year we absolutely walk away. $800k is what we should offer an F/A like him.
850ish at the moment over 6 yearsSorry how much per year are we thinking he’s being offered to leave?
So someone is offering top 5% earners for a "good solid" player at $800-850K before the CBA increase or $950-$1M after the CBA increase?????With Saints now guaranteed Band 1 compo if he leaves I'd almost pull the offer if I was the Saints like the kangas did with McKay.

It depends if the AFL want the Saints competitive.Gotcha. Can’t see that being band 1 unless the change to factor in contract length makes a big difference
