TBH i don't know how i feel about T8 "coming home".

It excites me as a Ford fan because by and large our biggest obstacle is gone, but at the same time aside from T8, there's not another consistent GM squad.

I expect PremiAir to take over homologation duties but really.... what does this mean for the future of the category

Smart cookies down at 888.
Seen the writing on the wall with the constant moaning from Ford. Because they couldn’t build a decent car they’ve whinged and moaned to Supercars for “parity” (read advantage) and Supercars have meekly complied.
So for continued success you jump on board with those who have the advantage of the rule makers decisions.

What are you talking about? The Ford vs Holden rivalry has been overstated for at least 20 years. Fewer and fewer people give a shit.

So your opinion is pretty irrelevant.

The GM/Ford rivalry isn't as strong as it was in say.... 2019, but there's still enough of it. You only have to go to a Supercars event to see it

Lose the GM product from the Supercars grid and the sport will die a pretty quick death.

If Supercars, or Australian motorsport generally, needs a GM product, or more accurately, a perception of GM, then it's barely fair dinkum in the first place. It's an "entertainment product to keep ageing Australians occupied and pretend they're motor racing fans.
Ageing Australians pretending to be motorsport fans ??

That's like saying that Carlton are just there to keep Boomer Inner/Melbourne football fans coming to games, because it's been that long since they've been relevant ??

Neither are true

I'm gonna guess you're older than me, and you still keep coming onto the Supercars thread to troll ??

Sad way to spend a weekend

Carlton benefits because of that fandom demographic despite having a couple of good years this century.

Supercars is effectively the designated Australian championship (Entitled *****). Since my interest in motor racing is greater than what F1 can fulfil and by virtue of being an Australian, then I keep tabs on the series despite objectively recognising what a pile of elephant poo it is.

What's sad is the perpetuation of the Ford v Holden rivalry and attachment to 5 litre V8s for professional motorsport here at any expense.

Toyota should've been in the "ATCC" 25 years ago and in the thick of it, as opposed to coming in now during an uncertain period because it's financially convenient and so that the current bozos running supercars still have a hold on Aus motorsport.

How long until GM/Chev pull out now? Can't imagine they'll keep going.
Yeah i can't see it either, but then who else ??

Do Toyota and Ford split the remaining squads ?? Doesn't seem practical or financially sensible.

There is some interesting rumors that Indycars could be hosting a round (non championship) in Adelaide a week before the Supercars. I think the SA Government is getting sh!tty with Supercars and dabbling in an popular international series.
