Judd to contest suspension!!

Judd is a magnificent player

But he is clearly an ordinary bloke. Piching/ attempted eye-gouging, is up there with biting.

No, gouging>>>biting>>>>>spitting>>>>>blood smearing>>>pinching.

Geez, we see defenders pinching forwards nipples FFS and it is considered a misdemeanour.

It's all ordinary in my book and completely against the spirit of the game, but let's not elevate it to something which can seriously injure.

Could they do this:

Plead guilty and downgrade it from intentional to reckless by saying that he was aiming for a point behind his ear (as this is not part of the face). Therefore he didn't intentionally put his fingers on his face.

That's about the only thing I can think of unless they try to get it thrown out altogether.

I have no doubt they will try to downgrade it from Low impact to insufficient imact.

By virtue of that the case gets thrown out.

With no injury or ill health to Rischitelli ( or remonstration from the player at the time), I think they have a very good case

Arrogance of this club knows no bounds.

They honestly believe that the rules don't apply to them.

Find me a rule that states "ATTEMPTING WITHOUT SUCCEDING TO TOUCH ANOTHER PLAYER'S PRESSURE POINT WARRANTS A 3 WEEK SUSPENSION"

Incidents like this should be beyond the regular grading system which wasnt really designed for eye-gouging or "pressure point testing".

After all, the incident was deemed head high contact. Of course it would be be head high, thats where the eyeballs are!!!!!

And I dont think impact should come into it either. If you deliberately squeeze a guy in the temple or extract an eyeball, it should not matter how hard you did it. If it was deliberate, that should be enough for the tribunal to determine that you need to be suspended.

The sooner they remove incidents like this from a formula system and revert to good old fashioned judgement, the better.

Intentional high contact is a suspension everytime under the current rules.

The part that Judd can never get thrown out is the damage that his reputation will get from this. Serves him right, I lost respect for him after his eye gouge/pressure point crap, but now that he is actually going to contest it after publically admitting to doing so just reeks of arrogance.

Complete froot loop.

Find me a rule that says you cant pull an uzi out and shoot wildly at the opposition ?

If no one is seriously hurt this should be fine right ?

Exactly, if you squeeze a guys nuts only moderately hard then thats fine because its low impact and not high. When in reality its a dog act and should be harshly punished.

Sup ODN?

Anyway, whether he's guilty or not, Judd has completely f***ed up his defence with his stupid comments at the airport and the fact that it was completely unnecessary.

It's probably an evener-upper from his WCE eye-gouging days. At least you can take comfort in that he probably won't get suspended again for something so stupid after this.

Attempted robbery, attempted murder. If you still attempt something you should face the consequences. Hasn't a player been suspended for throwing a punch and not connecting over the past few years?

He hasnt been charged with 'attempting'. He has been charged with doiing the act. Therefor the issue of force comes into play.

If he was charged with 'attempting' to do something then its a different kettle of fish.

Not sure is this has been mentioned before. But isn't the charge for "misconduct- unnecessary contact to the face/eyes"???

Is so, and he is agruing he was trying to find a pressure point BEHIND the ear, then technically, is this still the face??? Can they successfully argue the charge doesn't actually relate to the offence as Judd has admitted???

Personally, I hope he goes. To try and find pressure points etc is just rubbish, and should have taken the two.

Will be an interesting call though

He is every chance of proving the contact was negligible rather than low and he'll likely get off from this dog act.

They have to change the rules. Grading incidents like as if they were just another striking charge understates the seriousness of what has actually occurred.

You mean like when your fearless leader shirtfronted a guy who had his eyes on the ball this year and broke his jaw.

AND THEN collingfilth execs crack the shits AND THEN got the rule changed AND THEN got Maxwell off his charge of his own dog act.

You mean, something like that?

Pretty hypo-****ing-critical you collingfilth supporters are.

Thats the point - Nothing occured!!!!! No injury, no remonstration.

Just a hand placed on the face, and comments at an airport that are really irrelevant.

Geez, i hope Collingwood go out in straight sets so they can worry about there own backyards
