He did not get 40. That was just the jumper he was wearing for display. It said on 7 news that he is yet to be assigned a number, this was when he was on screen wearing the number 40. Don't just watch it mate, listening is the most impotant part of the news after all. :D
Infact, I didn't even see it:) I was at the mother's work so i'll have to wait on Sports Tonight. But I read that he had 40 on his back, so I just put two and two together. You'd think a smarter move would have been to just have a blank Blues Jumper?

Isnt it fantastic we have so many great numbers to choose from :D.

Something from left field...

Why not offer jumper #35

He doesnt want the spot light... Peter Dean's old number, a player I admired for tenacity and leadership!

I rkn 10 would be a good number - has always been a good number. But if he chose 5, it would mean 3, 4, and 5 would be awsome. murph, gibbs and judd. Possibly include walker and russel as 1 and 2 depnding how they develop. Taking 5 might be a bit disrespectful to JK tho? i dno

JK disgraced #5, McLaren disgraced #10, Lappin represented #12 well, Kouta (well, we have a system where Premiership winning players numbers are retired for a season or two), unless we drop that rule and Kouta hands him #43 :thumbsu:

Judd #43, happy with that

But you told us what a great player he was and how we had to hang onto him at all costs!

^ lol easy does it. i never implied anything. was just curious. it could have been his real number or it may have not, how was i to know?
You'd know by using a little common sense.

It's got me stuffed why people try and make out that there's some kind of underlying reason as to why he's wearing such a random number.

Perhaps his childhood idol was Andrew Caverdon who did the no.40 proud back in the day.
