The AFL do not know what they’re doing.

This actually decreases the contrast to Sydney's home than what they're wearing right now.

Assuming the AFL would let them wear Maroon shorts (they wouldn't, they'd make them wear white, adding a common colour between them and Sydney in their infinite wisdom), you'd have essentially the same colour blocks as Sydney's home kit.

Strange the AFL doesn't advise clubs to try matching short colours for away and clash guernseys. Makes me think clubs aren't allowed to do a third set of shorts. Home and white and nothing else.

They can make it happen very, very quickly. Factories across the world are churning this stuff out every day and they have tremendous pull with their apparel brands.

Very easy to make it happen as soon as the fixture is announced.

This one’s acceptable to me.

Not the brightest contrast of all time but certainly not a clash.

Nah red and maroon are too similar. Don’t know if your eyes can see infrared or something but looking at the ground from a fair distance you can hardly tell who’s on which team

We unfortunately don't have a kit that effectively contrasts with Sydney's home kit, so it was the best option available.

There was no clash issue with the Friday night game. For Thursday night, it is strange that Essendon and Richmond are deemed to have a clash but not Richmond and Carlton.

As posters above have said, Lions have yellow/gold as a club colour so a primarily yellow jumper would solve the clash.
