If Melbourne wanted that, I'm sure the AFL would allow it. The AFL doesn't dictate what clubs wear, they just define what's acceptable and what isn't.

Only thing AFL wouldn't allow is the red shorts unless used at home which I doubt they would.
If they used a red that the AFL deemed 'light', surely they would be allowed to.
