I'm a big advocate for no more Vs or chevrons etc. We hit saturation point a while go ago IMO.Too many hoops, stripes and sashes. I know what you're trying to say there but I think it would be better if they try create something new, but still has the footy look to it. A v design like the old Bears would be an alright start, would appeal to Rugby lovers up North. But even I have to admit, the V is getting a bit over used but I think it would work well with the Suns.
As good an idea as that sounds on paper, it just brings them closer to the Lions IMO. They need to differentiate themselves. No club in the league uses yellow/gold as its primary colour so embrace it.
Black is not very Suns-y and white is just as glaring as yellow. They really need a do-over. I was looking at colour palettes and the best non-red-or-blue option is purple, which is fine but again, not very Suns-y. I'd almost bite the bullet and go down the path of yellow, sky blue and white like the Titans but using yellow as the primary colour. The major issue with it is red and yellow (in the bright shades they use) looks shit.
They should at least incorporate some significant black or white to break it up. It’s all too glaring.

Yeah just go the full Brisbane lions kit.
Could even make the number circle into a solid circle representing the Sun.I'm a big advocate for no more Vs or chevrons etc. We hit saturation point a while go ago IMO.
EDIT: Being owned by the AFL, I'm sure an American influence would be the go.. just remove the number/circle and it's a traditional footy guernsey:

I like the idea of them taking navy, actually.
Yeah it wasn't long ago that the Eagles had it monopolised but what's the alternative? Complete colour rebrand? End up darkening the colours and just looking like the Lions?
Those Pacers designs are pretty decent too.
The first thing that came to me was a navy jumper with a thick yellow band around the chest. Pretty simple and shows off the colour contrast well, as well as being something unique. Keep the colours really deep and even a shiny sheen could look great on the jumpers. Easy to invert, play around with for Indigenous strips, I like it.
These designs have a nice pattern on the back and side too, and I reckon you could use that. The whole rising, setting sun thing is a motif that comes up a lot and it's simple and makes sense. The other day my old man saw a Macedonian flag and instantly made a joke about the Gold Coast Suns... though it's never been officially used, people associate them with that pattern. I'd like to see them use it as a subtle, sublimated, just darkened pattern on the back with some of the 'rays' turning yellow toward the front.
In a way, it'd look like these Timberwolves unis. But with what's the white stripe here, just being thicker.
The good thing is you can make a red and yellow version for a season or two to help the segue, too.
Also, if you want to keep the colours... this looks good, just the balance. An all yellow guernsey with a thick navy middle stripe, with a red pin stripe through the middle. Continue it on the back with a number panel. Mock ups? Thoughts?
Yeah that's a sort of design I'm all for. Something new and interesting but still looks like a design which belongs in Aussie rules.I'm a big advocate for no more Vs or chevrons etc. We hit saturation point a while go ago IMO.

Love the sash with the small blue sash attached. Perfect.
Some of these look good and actually look like football jumpers.
The navy is just a great contrast for the yellow. They don’t have a contrast at the moment.
Big fan of design 3. I think that works best.
Same, but I'd make it a tri panel. reckon the right blue would work well between the red and yellow.
As a person who had to put up with the Tripe-panel. I think they're not the best. They offer an extra clash. Eagles would clash with lighter teams with the gold and darker teams with the navy.Same, but I'd make it a tri panel. reckon the right blue would work well between the red and yellow.
