Discussion Jumpers of significance

I was asked recently my suggestions for jumpers of significance.
These would be jumpers that represent something special for a certain club and/or their supporter base.

These are the ones I came up with

Interesting take on Port’s, for me it’d have to be the 1914 jumper. For those unfamiliar, Port went undefeated in the home and away season (the only time that’s been done in the SANFL AFAIK), won the flag, beat a combined Rest of SA team, and then beat Carlton in the Championship of Australia.
The significance doesn’t end there though. In 2014 Port tried to wear the jumper to celebrate 100 years since such a massive occasion, but the AFL didn’t see it as being of enough significance so we weren’t allowed to wear it. Definitely a far cry from today where a club can wear a heritage jumper because it just looks cool. I suspect we used its’ denial as leverage to get to wear the PBs in the EF that year.
I was hoping we might wear the 1914 jumper in our home showdown this year but I saw a picture on the Port Store’s IG story and it was the typical version with white trimmings and it had a white MG logo so it won’t be happening.
For those who don’t know what the 1914 one specifically looks like, we wore it in 2003’s Heritage Round and in the SANFL as a heritage jumper in 2014. It’s got black trimmings, thinner bars, only 5 vertical bars and a completely different back. Might be my favourite edition of the jumper tbh.

I tend to agree in the sense that it doesn’t have a lot of the features that help distinguish it from the Collingwood jumper. The bars being even thinner might help its case but even still, I think there’s room for it. I’d like to think that now we’ve had the public shitfight over it and Port has been wearing it yearly, people increasingly associate the bars with Port and recognise the difference with Collingwood’s jumper. As such, by the time 2034 or 2039 rolls around (120/125 years) it shouldn’t bother Collingwood. And not even in a “give an inch and they take a mile” way, more that people aren’t gonna look at the 1914 bars and think “hmmm Collingwood”, they’ll probably see it and if they happen to recognise the slight difference they’ll shrug and move on. That of course is in a world where we’ve worn the normal version once a year for 14/19 years by that point. I think a slight concession could be made for the single most dominant season by any club that’s in the league right now, even if in another league.

For me as a Brisbane Lions fan it has to be our merger jumper that we won three flags in, the one with the numbers on the yoke, not the current version where the back yoke is higher than the numbers.

For Adelaide, I would say the 1991 guernsey holds huge significance to their club and their supporters, especially with their entry starting a rivalry with Port as well as Victoria.

As for Carlton, it would most likely have to be their 1970 guernsey for obvious reasons.

Fitzroy would have a few contenders, especially all guernseys from 1956 onwards, again for obvious reasons

I don't know about Geelong, maybe their 1990s guernseys

South Melbourne/Sydney would be the 1960s Red V due to the association with Bob Skilton playing at Souths at the time
