Re: 24. Kane Lucas

Kid's certainly a good young gun, in only his second game against a team that likes to pressure and squeeze the life out of us, and usually does so very well, he impressed the hell out of me with his ability to get the ball and perform under pressure, intensity etc and his kicking was nice too.

Think he had something like 24 disposals and 10 marks, I think already he looks quite at home in the team, and I really look forward to watching him throughout the year.

Re: 24. Kane Lucas

Great to see Lucas take some marks like he did in his highlights.

The one touch take on the wing under pressure and the handball in the one action was beautiful to watch.

Set off a terrific fast break.

Sugar adds another dimension to the midfield that we lack.

A midfielder who can push forward and take a mark.

Re: 24. Kane Lucas

Rarely do I notice technical things about young players, but two things have stood out to me in his first two hit outs.

Firstly, he has a great pair of hands, very clean. And the body shape (the size will come) to be able to take a mark.

Secondly, his kicking action seems very fluent and natural. Despite a few botched kicks, I think his disposal will be top notch for us.

Carlton rookie plays role of replacement son
"They were too strong for us and taught us a few lessons in a few areas," Lucas said.

"We've been back to the drawing board this week and we're back on target, so hopefully we can have a win this week."

"I've been really lucky with the games I've had and the crowds I've played in front of," Lucas said.

"My first game there was 70,000 (fans) against Essendon and I didn't know what to think.

"I was a bit jittery and shaking just trying to concentrate. The feeling you get when you run out in front of the banner and you're looking around. It was amazing. You get tingles running through your body. Even last week (in front of 80,000 against Collingwood) I got the same feeling.

"I don't know if it ever goes away but it's just amazing."

Re: 24. Kane Lucas

The club should ask Lucas to change to the number nine.

Then we can give pick 18 the number ten.

That might break the curse, but it could also be fitting if he isn't a KPP.

God help him.

Kane Lucas will move from number 24 down to number 9, a number he wore as a junior. The move also sees him join six other first round draft picks in a single digit number.

Too good TG! :thumbsu:

Re: 24. Kane Lucas

Just watched a replay of round 4 vs. Adelaide, this kid is going to be something special. I would easily say in our best 22 after seeing that!
