Congrats to Kanga and the QC. Commiserations to the Hall. And once again, Big Footy proves to be unlucky for those who use it to campaign.

Now I guess we go back to another 11 months of agreeing that the board and executive are doing a great job.

And another 11 months before 'free and fair election' and 'North Melbourne' might appear in the same sentence.

What are you whinging about now?

How was I tricked in to voting for someone I really didn't want to vote for?

Being appointed to the NMFC board a month out from the election provides the undeserved advantage of incumbency.

That's what I'm whinging about.

Do you assume our members are all stupid and get tricked in to voting for certain persons?

Congratulations to them both, and sincere thanks to Caroline for standing and reminding us what a blessing it is to have an excess of qualified, committed people wanting to contribute as directors and to have the right to make a choice.

Someone worthy has missed out, but no-one unworthy has got in, as far as I can see, so it would be great to minimise the sniping.

Personally i am Happy with the result! The board gets another 12 months to continue their good work. Bad luck to the hall. Hopefully she continues her close association with the club.

Wednesday I think it is pretty pathetic to be complaining about an "unfair advantage". All 3 candidates were able to put forward their case. Our members are all smart enough to read what each person offered and vote on who they thought would serve our board the best. People might disagree but I personally doubt having an asterix next to laycocks name gave her the extra votes she received to retain her spot on the board. Most members I have spoken to or the posters I read on bigfooty thought she deserved to be a lock for what skills she adds to the board.

If there is no advantage, why weren't all 'new' candidates made to wait until the election instead of one being brought on to the board one month out from the election?

Google 'advantages of incumbency' and you might get it.

As always, the voice of reason. Good call, H2H. The election is over. Anyone with concerns over the legitimacy of the vote can always phone the club in the morning. I'm sure Euge would happily take your call. It would be the right thing to do in the interests of the club rather than criticising in this rather public forum.

Not sure that anyone is questioning the legitimacy of the vote. Good luck to the incumbents and to the rest of the board. They have a challenge to tick the only missing box - debt reduction. It's a must win challenge if we are to lock in the last part of securing our future. It's a challenge no board before them has ever been able to defeat. Sponsorship and membership are the key - lets all get behind them and do what we can - its the key to our future.

Sorry, I must have misinterpreted where someone used the phrase "free and fair election" in what I perceived as a sarcastic and critical fashion. My mistake. As I say, the election is over. We have a re-elected board with a clear mandate so forward we go.

Board has been building towards on and off field results otherwise the debt and profit would have come first.

2012 expectation would be finals, 34K + members, substantial debt reduction and year end profit.

Gee, none of that happened this year. Then again that is just an opinion. Like voting.

Congrats to Julie and Will on their re-election. We have a big year off the field coming up so its goos we have a stable board going into

On a lighter note, if anyone attended the AGM tonight did that old north supporter ask about the cafe again? it wouldn't be the same at a north agm without that question being asked

My favourite bit was when PdR got up and stormed out as soon as the results were announced.

I'm with Wednesday. The election was rigged. Otherwise Zondor would have been elected. :stern look

To miss out by only 69 votes was a fair effort all the same Zonds. :putin face of knowing

Congrats to Kanga and Will, and bad luck The Other Caro.

Yeah and my favourite bit was when arceri stormed out once it was announced that no cafe was to be built at Hardon St. :stern look

LOL. There was no storming there. But it did get mentioned again.
