Where did i say this? What I said was, the losses are as many as the gains. Howard, Pell, Hausler and Roberts were all in your 1st 18 in last year's prelim. The amount of games they played (ie. Howard) is irrelevant. On that basis you would say Eddy would be no loss (as he only played a couple). If Roberts and Pell are finished are you saying you wouldn't take them back? and wouldn't Carver or Siera be in the same boat, given that he's the same age as Roberts, and with a dodgy hammy too. And Tom Warren was arguably your best defender. The player's you've lost are hardly Picola league 2nds players either. But to make my point, maybe I should just use a lot of!!!! (I counted 21 in your Jason Casey love fest) If these guys are so good, you might find yourself playing the early game. And have you gained the services of a ruckman yet? You might need one of those too. I'm not saying you won't be the best team in it, I'm just saying that there are as many players out of the side as there are in. Comparing the quality of the ins v outs, well I guess September will be the judge of that.

You didnt say it at all it was just the way your comment was coming across!! In realation to Tommy and Blood we would take them back for sure but I think you will find that their roles in the team this year will be played by blokes that are the future of the club. Tommy Warren was one of our best backman last year and I would be very surprised if you dont see him in a Lanky Jumper this year!! Haha if you think so mate!!! Not being smart but Howard didnt play in the prelim either!!! Im guessing your a bloke that has a bit of inside info on Lanky so you can answer the question about the ruckman and if you cant you will just have to wait and see like the rest of the comp!!! Our best ruckman in the club last year didnt play in the ruck hardly and he is keen to get back in there this year if hes needed!! I do agree on your last sentance we will have to wait and see what happens wont we!! Im sure you will be one of the first blokes judging us as well!!! Will be good to just get the season rolling n you never know what could happen throughout the year!!!

haha, if it's the same player I'm thinking he is, he missed one right on the goal line when playing at VT last year, put it out on the full... no celebrations there...
Think he bumped an Undera player high that was low to the ground in search of the footy or getting rid of it if I remember right at the prelim..? Not 100% sure though.

Your never going to let me live that shot on goal down are you bodzy?? You are right I got a week for high contact so looking forward to round 2 (round 1 for everyone else) against the gum

I would agree with that Sloth.
Mick Dudd - what Sloth is saying is that whilst Lanky have a few quality losses, their gains will make up for them. They appear to have more depth than last year so hopefully that equates to being a better side.
And as everyone has said...time will tell!
Time to move on...

Body not too bad, first time since my knee reco (05) that I haven't done a hammy in pre-season, so far, hopefully I can get through the next 10 days!!.

No probably not, just stirring the pot! End of the day you guys beat us by 30pts and got the real celebration anyway.....
VT are playing West Footscray down there on Sat arv for our final practice match, think they've been div 1 down there for a while but have been relegated to div 2 this season, so should be a very hard match, but should be good to see how we go against a better standard.
Lot of praccy matches for us, but if we didn't play this week we'd only have played one game of footy (against Merrigum, round 2) for the next month come the end of it due to round 1 bye and easter general bye.

What are the details for the game bodzy

You will know who Jason Casey is after Round One thats for sure!!! He is a jet and no one in the league will be up with him! And thats a big call cos theirs some good on ballers in the comp!!! If you want to kno anything about him maybe have a look at St Marys honour board in Geelong, that might help you figure out who he is!!! Blood and Tommy has retired and will both telll you they were finished at the end of last year!! Howard player 3 games I think it was. Would have been good to see him in full flight 5 years ago cos he would have been a gun!!!Dont know who your source is but i hope your not putting ur life in their hands but Pryde is there for the year!!! You have made it sound like the boys that we have recruited are picola league 2nds players and if you knew much about footy you would know they aint!!!!

the word on jason casey is true.... partly. news is he is good out wide in winning sides, but turns it over a lot and doesnt like it hard (so might be a good idea to run someone with him everyone).

J.Casey will fit in at Wombat land, even if he doesn't like the hard stuff. Burnett, S.Thompson,Gemmill and Brunt dont mine being under the packs dishing out to the running players. Every team needs some running recievers.

Its Lanky's 20 year reunion this year for being defeated in the 91 granny by Girgarre, maybe a bad Omen for Lanky i hope.

You might want to look at it that way - but on the other side of the coin it is the 10 year reunion for the 2001 Senior Premiership and the 30 year reunion for the 1981 Senior Premiership.

Lancy Vs Rushy under lights. If this is a preview of this year, the KDFL,clubs and supporters are in for a great season.. Thomo..fullback of the year, you bloody legend !!

sounds like it was a good game... who played well for both teams?

yes a very good game , very fast ball movement. Clarke and Lambden were good for rushy and thomson (s) and shaw good for lancaster. both teams will be in finals and with lancaster getting 8 back shoulds finish on top.
but who do they drop , thought everyone did their share.Although what was the celebration at the siren by no 8 down on his knees and raising his fists to the heavens.
Was a good crowd and the lights were good, well done to both clubs.

Yes did think for a minute I was watching a Premiership being won.
Would think that was Rushy's best chance to knock off Lancy as they have some quality to come in, Casey X2, Siera, M. Orr, Burnett.

Rushy also had a couple of decent players out, but would think that that might be the closest anyone gets to Lancy until finals;)

Went along and watched the Lanky Vs Rushy game and found it very entertaining. Whilst it was not a high scoring game, it was quite quick and there was certainly alot of intensity and players found it difficult to break away from the stoppages.

Rushworth appeared to run out of legs in the last quarter when the game was up for grabs but will certainly win more games than they will lose this year.

Was disapointed that a number of new recruits did not play as was looking forward to seeing some of them play in particular Sierakowski and J Casey. I am sure both sides would have liked (as does every side) all players available for round one.

Was interesting that the Rushy coach started at full forward. As the game progressed he probably spent more time in the backline. Whybrow looked sharp and can certainly push forward with pace.

Anyway thought it was a good spectacle and congrats to the Leauge and both clubs concerned in trying to promote KDFL football in general.

No, but would rather Ky during the day. The best footy is played during the day, doesn't matter how good the lights are, you still find it hard to pick things up at times.

I Think you will find that the kdfl powers at be feel that mooroopna is the central place to hold a grand final, even though we are called kyabram and district !. The process is now by tender whereby any club can submit a proposal to host the grand final. However until details of tenders are transparent then it is difficult to compare and evaluate all proposals. It is my understanding grand final will be at mooroopna again this year.

Tips for the weekend:
Murchison V Rushworth: Rushy showed they will be up and around the mark this season against Lanky and I think they will be to strong for Murch. Rushy by 30 points
Avenel V Nagambie: Nagambie have lost a few players, but should outclass Avenel. Nagambie by 40
Girgarre V Tallygaroopna: I haven't heard much from either camp, but Gig have lost some of their top players from last season. Tally by 30-40
Lancaster V Merrigum: Sadly can't see Merrigum getting anywhere near Lanky. Lanky by 100 +
Longwood V Ardmona: Will be interesting to see the outcome of this match, don't think either side will be around the mark come September, Look out for Big Perry and Joe in the forward line. Longwood by 12 points
Stanhope V Undera: Probably the match of the round. Both sides with new coaches who will be looking to start the season off well. Could go either way. Stanhope by 23
Voilet Town in a close one over the Bye

Rushy big movers for the flag, into $4.50, Stanhope & Nagambie out to $9 after ordinary practice match form!!
