Notice Lancaster have lodged a clearance for Jamie Daff. Is this the ruckman that Ky were chasing at the start of the year ?. Any mail on ability etc.. If any good looks like they have found a replacement for the retired Roberts.

Goes well if he is the guy I'm thinking of, played at Cobram and was one of the better ruckman going around in the Murray League at that stage, was pretty young from memory then so would have only improved since. Will top them off nicely.

Tips For this weekend:

Avenal vs Ardmona : Avenal should have a win against the cats 80pts
Gigarre vs Undera: Big win for Undera with Gigarre struggling 103pts
Lancaster vs Nagambie: Will be one of the closer matches for the round but still not convinced that with Nagambie's losses that they can knock off the flag favourites. 30pts
Longwood vs Murch: Hoppers to get a percentage boost. 95pts
Stanhope vs Rushy: Probably game of the round. Rushy cant afford to lose another match but i think stanhope will be too good. 13pts
VT vs Tally: Violet town to win at home. 28pts

Avenel at home 30pts
Undera easily 100pts +
Lancaster 40pts and could be more
Murch should win 45pts
Stanhope 4 goals in battle for top 3
violet to win by abit if they are a challenger.

My predictions for Round 3.

AVENELvs Ardmona. Despite what happened to the Swans in Round 2, they should win this one very easily, against a side that will likely finish 12th this year. (72 points).

Girgarre vs UNDERA. Considering that they toweled up Avenel away from home, you would think that a 100 point will occur without Undera barely breaking a sweat, and that's what will happen tomorrow (112 points).

LANCASTER vs Nagambie. Even with all their injuries Lanky should win this one without much effort, and they will (38points).

Longwood vs MURCHISON The 'Legs should be a lot more competitive than the last time these teams met, and even though Murchison will come into this game cold after only playing Rushworth two weeks ago, the 'Hoppers should hold off a determined Longwood by 32 points.

STANHOPE vs Rushworth. Potentially one of the bell-weather games for the season for both sides. Rushworth need to cause an upset to give them a chance to finish in the Top 3 after being only 1-2 coming into this game, whilst Stanhope need to continue with their winning form by knocking off one of their old rivals.

This game will be decided by the mid-field and although Stanhope don't have as much tall timber as Rushy, their midfield is stronger, and that will make all the difference in the end, Stanhope to win by 14 points.

VIOLET TOWN vs Tallygaroopna. Violet Town aren't one of the favourites for the flag without reason, and although Tally have the potential to push the better sides if they're not on their game, the Towners won't be complacent enough to cause an upset here, especially at Violet Town. the Towners to win by 42 points.

Merrigum have the bye.

Good luck to all teams playing today.

VT beat Tally by 2 goals yesty. Thought we were going to run away with it early in the 2nd quarter but just when we'd kick a few goals and get ahead by a few we'd stop and follow it up with a few mistakes across the field. Tally's midfield is pretty handy and their Full Forward recruit BJ Arho had a day out with 7. Probably wasn't our finest game of football so feeling pretty lucky to come away with the 4pts. I think Tally will make the top 5 come the end of the season.
Our 2nds had a great 52pt win. Reckon this would be the first time in at least 2 decades that our 2s have kicked off the year with 2 straight wins.

Any other match reports? Heard the Nagambie Lanky game was a bit fiery and Burnett might've got reported?

Nagambie werent happy getting smashed by 100pts.
Cant see Undera getting within 40pts this saturday.
Steve Thomson another 3 votes thats probably 12 already.

He may need to have 3 votes every game as Dave Hansford is set for a fly in appearance in Round 9 for Stanhope;).
Another 'bombshell' could be let off out at the Lions den in the coming weeks also!!

Pretty ordinary comment hank, don't think anyone wishes a player to suffer a broken jaw and go through the rehabilitation process required.

My sincere apologies up there, was all tongue in cheek mate, which was what the ;) was put at the end of the comment for. Was nothing in the incident and he has come back fine from it, missing 6 weeks or whatever it was, is a piece of piss rehab in my book!!

Burnett reported for striking Paulky, muir reported and also think the nagambie runner may be in a bit of trouble.

so is this "bombshell" shannon grant and lenny schmidt pulling on the boots for stanhope

No, they are just little sea shells!!, the bombshell is just one person!, All only pie in the sky stuff at this stage:)

Maybe one of the 2 international recruits pulling the jumper on for the seniors Hank? That would come under the heading "bombshell" in my book! :D

Looks like murchison have added a very handy full forward in terry durward and also jesse zito from tat.

Yeah kicked 5 for them on the weekend, unsure on the scenario as he only got cleared yesterday by the website, maybe he played on a permit.

I don't think you need one to be cleared back. Looking at the clearances for the Under 18's kids, they only seem to need a clearance to the club they're playing on permit for.

Is it different for senior players?
