Sounds like the whole game was a disgrace. You woul hope the league comes down hard on everyone involved if what is being reported on here is even close to accurate
Not at all. In fact most of the game was played in the right way. Did get ugly in the last 5 minutes or so though.

Agree Profit what happend in the last 5 was a pity but the game was played fair by both sides all day , but reckon l seen one of the best things in country footy Nev and Pottsy in the same room straight after the game having a chat with 9438m of tape and 94kg of ice over them

Official Sports Bet odds for KDL Premiership

VT - $1.90
Nagambie - $3.10
Lancaster - $5.50
Murch - $9
Rushy - $14
Undera - $41
Stanhope - $41
Avenel - $41
Tally - $51
Girgarre - $401
Ardmona - $1001
Merrigum - $1501
Longwood - $500,001

Considering the odds of the other teams, VT at $1.90 is still good value; weren't Lancy at about $1.20 at the same stage last year..??

Lancaster without Nunn, Burnett and Barnett getting to within 3 goals of VT at $5.50 is still worth a look if you ask me and Rushy aren't without a chance of making a late play, as per last year.

Couple of mates are playing at VT this year, so ive taken an interest in the results. In particular Ardmona. Am i missing something? How are they rated a better chance then Longwood and Merrigum? Are they missing their entire side at the moment? Average losing margin of 44 goals.

Hank l still think you are a good judge of kdfl footy, and with Wheels out it did have an effect but Lanky were very good and will improve as the year goes on, top 3 side for me...Rat , as for owing you a beer, walked into the rooms with a pineapple , had five beers and waked out with small change, sounds to me like you owe me a beer you tight ass:D
Was the surf up , or on long necks ?

Not long until the big return to interleague, what are peoples thoughts on the final side? Who will make the cut? and who will be unlucky to miss out?
Also will Burnett be playing himself or just coaching? I was asked this question the other night and had no idea.

Pretty sure he will just coach, I actually don't know but would think that will be his plan.

:thumbsdown::thumbsdown: to Sanders for asking the gig water boy for a drink just before the center bounce then not giving the bottle back then telling the ump Gigs water boy was in the center square, tally free kick but what more would you expect from him,

apart from that good game had by both teams, tough hard footy tally just ran over us in the last quarter,

God murch must be pulling there hair out wouldnt they! expectations and hype just havent met! Kdl is almost becoming predictable i struggle to even bother reading the results clearly Vt will win! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Anyone got a match report from Lanky and Merrigum, the scoreline in that one would have shocked a few id suggest?

Firstly I will say it's been a very disapointing month or so for the club, with some very ordinary performances and a bad run of key outs. The Lanky game still a 7 goal loss and we are pretty disappointed we didn't come away with the win, as the dogs were definately in the game until the final quarter. I know where everyone is coming from considering where we have been the last couple of years, but we aren't comparing this year to past seasons.

Early in the game Lanky hit the ground running. Merrigum won the tackle count and clearances but Gemmil was very important playing loose in the backline and repelling well for the Bats. Bob Knowles was very welcome back after missing a few games through injury, Keeping Sierakowski quiet and accumulating the pill himself.

The second qtr the dogs came back into the game booting 4 goals to nil. The Tatura trio of Stammers, C Barnett and Knowles dominant. Josh Pell was in everything. Sullivan beating Meka with run and carry and Unge Borrelli kicking a couple of crumbing goals.

The third saw the dogs kick 2 goals clear with the first 2 goals of the qtr. Pell and Logan Church especially getting involved. Lancaster steadied kicking 3 goals, their first since qtr time to fight back into the game. Herrick and Steve Thompson, Burnett and Eddy up forward starting to win the ball.

In the last the Bats run away with it, with the dogs probably spending petrol tickets in the physical contest.
The best way to stop the Wombats is to go physical and make Sierakowski accountable, no easy recieves to use his devastating kick! The wombats would be behind VT and Nagambie for mine. Apparently Barnett may not return for them through injury? And some other key players have left for work etc. I doubt they will have the depth to seriously challenge for the flag again this year.

Better news this week that Geoff Connallys and Graeme Giles knee injuries are not as bad as first thought and should miss 6 weeks, but should play again later in the season.
Jono Barnett, Dave Matthews, Trav Thompson, Tony Hicks, Brett Macartney and Warren DeLeuw to return after the bye. So the dogs should be able to better show it's improvement in the run home.:thumbsu:

Nagambie sent out a pretty strong message with the result over Avenel, they seem to be purring along very nicely.

Not talking it down but still think that Lanky will still get better and Nagambie will be the team to beat all year.Vt are about second or third at this stage.

In saying that, Murch have been pretty stiff, and will obviously be ruing going down by a point to Rushy on the weekend. It was a good win by the tigers and they've got a lot more depth this year; had some good players out on Saturday and got up for a win against quality opposition.

Heard that dicky feehan got badly reported for Murch, breaking a leg in the 2's.. Good bloke, terrible news, hope he has a speedy recovery.

Undera haven't got much love on here lately, but don't seem to have done much wrong & have swept under the radar.. On present form it's hard not to think they're on par with lanky..

B&A Ralph would have to be a joke right???
TWO Ardmona players in the interleague side and they get beaten by 10 goals by Longwood???
Can someone please post the real squad?

Just because Ardmona aren't very good doesn't necessarily mean they don't have good players. Outside of Ardmona's top couple of players they're really short on talent though (to word it politely), which is why they're being slaughtered so mercilessly each week.

Also, Andrew Ralph was playing GVFL seniors at the start of the year.

Was playing GVFL seniors you say?? Well he must be bloody good cause there are no ordinary footballers in the GVFL!
Absolute joke.....................

Well he's only a young kid, after kicking 98 goals in the Under 18's last year; I don't see the harm in selecting him. If the coaches think he's in the best side for Saturday, then I don't see a problem. They obviously see something in him.

I don't think there would be too many 'ordinary footballers' in the Mooroopna senior side. I have no doubt they would certainly acquit themselves well in the KDFL. I'm sure Hank could attest to that.

don't see a problem in either of them being selected in the squad, both probably have a question mark over their application, but both have the talent to play at KDL interleague level, Andrew as a small fwd (think he could be a real handful in that role for the opposition) and Brent has the ability to play in the ruck or any key position. As for Andrew playing GV seniors, played 2 games before deciding for whatever reason it wasnt for him, and there are more than a couple of players in the squad that found it hard to hold down a GV senior spot (who are quality KDL players),so where do they stand!!

I was very suprised at the selection of A Ralph, and surely wont be selected in the final 22. I would think there are plenty in the league that should have got the nod 1st. Playing 2 senior games at GVL level is hardly proving yourself, playing a couple of seasons would be more credible. We have guys who have played 50+ GV senior games who haven't got a invite to train and many other clubs are the same. Pretty sure they would be a more worthy selection imo. Frankly going back to Ardy and losing by 250-300 a week Vs playing GVL senior footy is a cop out.

Kynan Borthwick from Girgarre would be best choice for a small forward.. Great hands, speed and goal sense and is in the leading goal kickers. With Wheeler going down through injury Girgarre aren't even represented, would have thought Gig aren't going too badly?
