Great to see some good banter on here from SM & Jaxbac. Unfortunately for you Smooth Mover you have to cop it on the chin but at least your a good sport.
Like I said on an earlier thread I couldn't make any games on the weekend but a mate of mine was at Lancy as a club sponsor and told me he was very disappointed in what he saw, saying VT were harder at the contest all day. Hopefully for you SM they can bounce back this weekend.
Jaxbac, aren't you up and about at the moment. Sounds to me that your still a bit dirty on Rigney for jumping ship, confirm or deny?

You bet I am, haven't slept since Friday night and still celebrating our win downing 13 slabs and nearly got the 14th beat..Just starting to dribble out my ears as I speak so nearly time for ni ni's. Interesting to hear the response from the Ky FNC at the Vt hotel Saturday night when it was announced that we defeated their sister club..Only joking Smoothy:)Just yanking your chain..

Geez settle petal, you don't take losing very well at all, just yanking a couple of chains old buddy..As for Riggas, I don't have any problems with him he is actually a good mate of mine and yes I do have his number just in case I want to make a counter offer on the $1100 a game you are paying him..:p Now for Bowser, Almost 300 games under his belt and still getting the hard ball unlike some very loose sheepdogs in your backline (who we won't mention)that don't man up and run around like individuals. If you don't like the game tough then the netty court is not far away, perhaps you will have to man up there or women up as there is nowhere to hide..Hang on a minute, you tell him,I'm not a secretary..;)
I take losing fine mate, that's how sport works! Ya win some & ya lose some that's what we prepare for! I can sit here & listen to whatever you have to throw at me just remember tho what goes around.... Well you know the rest! :D

Now regarding Bowser, I don't know how good your eyesight is but obviously doesn't let you see past the boundary line during game time my friend, I don't know the bloke so only telling you what I saw with my own eyes out on the field.... He seem like he could still be a pretty handy player if he just concentrated on the game instead of worrying about squaring up old debts!;)

Now with the "loose" checking backline or "sheep dogs" as you referred to maybe you had some very loose checking forwards who didn't want to pay the defenders any respect especially when they ran harder then them all day & didn't want to chase?? But still that doesn't change the result now does it so for the last time I'll say it Congrats on the win & you's deserved it 100%.... :thumbsu:

Ps I'm married with 2 daughters, I'm not interested in playing netball, I've seen how those girls can operate when they get mad.... Especially if it's that time of the :eek::D.... No thankyou.... ;)

No way, or I would have written a 1000 posts by now complaining about Riggas & Vars's payments.... :p:D:D
They're getting paid? You may just have opened the door! I'm sure that I saw the great man at Longwood recently as I stood by that most impressive fire drum. You can't fault his passion for the survival of the game and the numbers that are thrown around must have been a shock coming from the BDFL. For those of us wishing to go forward we have the responsibility of balancing the equations because the truth is that any club that buys up and bails out is not progressing the game or the community that they come from.

Morning fellas, was unable to get to a game yesterday, was surprised with a few of the results. Looking at the scores it looks as though most games were played in wet conditions. Has anyone have any news to report? Injuries etc etc. Who were the biggest winners & losers from the round?
Paul parsons ( GIG) fractured eye socket and cheek bone due to a low hit

Mass

Massive call!!
Few sides could win it
Totally agree.. Any of the top 4 teams could win it on there day.. Will come down to who has the least amount of injuries come finals time.. We hope to have Scowan, McCurry, back from injury last couple of rnds. And al young and Bangas back from overseas aswell.. Touchwood..

Still staying with Stanhope, Mez had the advantage in the bog on the weekend n still couldn't get it done. Will be a lot better on a dry finals paddock If Murch were the real deal the would of disposed of rushy by a lot more and nags will lack depth at the pointy end of the season.
But hey, anyone can have a prediction n this is mine, @ this stage!

Not bad there Buddy, Stanhope for me beating Murch in the big one, always hard to go back to back and I think Stanhope will reverse last years result. Merrigum are definitely a chance but just seem to lack the X factor to go that little bit further and Nagambie are travelling along nicely but as stated their depth is a real concern. In saying that any of those four could take it out on their day. The rest of us are would be just making up the numbers I think..

Called in to the Undera pub tonight locals already giving in no Mc clucky. No Boyle no bruinier looks like it's a battle for them.

Murchison appeared to be pretty ordinary last week against a very depleted Rushworth. If that form at the moment is good enough to have them playing in the grand final then the league has dropped off a fair bit from last year.

Yeah you could be right, Stanhope I believe are the definite one to beat then throw a blanket over the other three. Merrigum the sentimental favourite so I hope its them but seem to struggle come finals time but in saying that they did account for Nagambie early in the year by 9 goals, Nagambie has beaten both Stanhope and Murch but struggling at the moment with injuries and numbers after forfeiting the ressies last week. Murch beat Merrigum by 6 goals also so looking at that who bloody knows, it depends on who fit and turns up to play finals and bust their arse for the club. In defence to Murch's average game last week, Sydney weren't flash tonight against the Tigers and won but still think they are favourites so bring on September and watch the Towners come from the clouds and take out the big one. Dreams are free:D:D:D:D

Any1 Hurd the lancy vs avenel scores yet....

got told there was a few looking to go to gvfl next year and a few clubs looking to waste a heap off cash on very good players

Agreed, Murchison were made to work against Rushworth in muddy conditions and against Ardmona today, until breaking away in the last term (Ardmona were within 6pts during the 3rd term). The Hoppers, like many teams, have not had a good run of late with injuries and unavailabilities but have been banking the four points. Having our first crack at Girgarre and Lancaster in the next two weeks to hopefully get some regulars back before return bouts against Merrigum, Undera, Stanhope, Violet Town, Avenel and Longwood.

With us being a game behind Stanhope and Nagambie any loss from now on in will jeopardise any opportunity of a double chance, our draw has us meeting four current top 6 teams twice. A final round bye could become a blessing if we do finish 3rd to 6th, not sure how advantageous two weeks off in August will be in terms of momentum.

Bodes well for an interesting finals race.

Which significant players are out at the moment Kat and when are they due back?
