Nah all good mate u can still shout me that beer come finals time.... :p

Yeah bets still on mate, I believe we will make finals....

Is it true that these two recruits to Lancy are on $800-$1000 per game, these are the figures that were being bandied around watching them have no impact on Saturday. They'd would want to improve in the following weeks to justify that sort of money in my opinion.

Am I out of touch with KDFL player payments?

Not for a moment am I suggesting the figures speculated above are accurate, but are some players collecting $800-$1000 per game in our league?

That would be correct, Although most clubs won't admit it..Our highest paid player in Tigsy Sage is on nowhere near those figures..About $600 from memory:D:D Money well spent

Interesting to see the clearances taiLz on board that means there's only 1 more spot left in the standard car (4 for comfort) to head up the highway .. Do the wombats have another spare $800-$1000 just to make up the numbers at the pointy end..I think so watch this space

Morning Stop It 3, can you supply anymore info on this tailz character that you claim is heading to Lancy, is he a fwd, mid or defender? Lancy must have a healthy bank balance. Who do they play this weekend?

Time for AFL Victoria to step in and change the clearance deadline from June 30th to May 15th (4-6 weeks into the season, dependant on when leagues start). This would help stop the inflated payments from clubs who get desperate in June when they believe they haven't got the cattle, or aren't prepared to back their Coach to get improvement out of their list to compete come late September.

Can anyone name a team/club that has gone down the path of recruiting mid year while sitting 4th or 5th and gone on to win the flag?? Seriously some committee members of these clubs must have there head that far up there own backside or the coach totally stands over them, make a stand clubs and say come round 1 that's it lets build on what we have got and if its not ideal bring kids up?? Hardly going to see these lancy recruits hanging around next year

Or, with only a handful of rounds down and more clubs potentially considering themselves in the mix, it could result in more money being spent. Very few sides would consider putting the cue in the rack so early and it could become a very ugly meat market. Perhaps shut clearances on April 30 when there is still plenty of doubt and teams are still taking time to "gel". This would force players to commit early and be accountable. Then again, when it comes to young blokes, parents could instil a little bit of humility and encourage their children to push themselves at a higher level before asking someone else's Nan to work extra shifts in the canteen to cover their payments.

April 30th was my first thought, but some leagues don't start till the 2nd half of April. Think it would be much harder for guys to jump ship after only 3 or 4 games, and think with more clubs still being in the mix that would mean less players would be in the market to change at that point.

it's lancys business if they want to recruit a couple of players mid year and I repeat mid year! All you blokes are very quick to write a club off at the halfway mark there's a long way to go yet. if there is a few bucks in the kitty and the club is raising it why not at least there trying it seems to be Stanhope and merrigum blokes mainly bagging the idea I bet there both still looking for players!$$

Hey mate I couldn't give a fat rats arse wat lancy are doin.. Lancy blokes them self are the ones on here pumping there recruits tyres up.. And it comes and bites u in the bum when u cop a flogging the 2nd week they play.. And know one from Stanhope has had a crack at them for buying these players.. As I know we are looking arnd ourselves.. :) but good luck to them if they think it will improve them and they have the money all and good..
Ladder predictions here goes.. Nagambie will finish in the top 2 as they only have one more game against a top 6 team..
Who ever wins out of the gum and Stanhope will finish in the top 2 aswell..
Nagambie
Stanhope
Merrigum
Murchison
Avenel
Undera

Lanky can do what they like but it's a long way to the top in a final six where only 1 and 2 get any significant advantage. As I posted earlier...spend away Wombats.

On behalf of the gum we don't care either..
Ideally I'd like to see the Wombats buy 10 blokes for $1000 a week each, lose the granny by a point, the club then goes bankrupt and folds. Then in an unrelated incident that football ground on Weller Rd goes up in flames. But that's just me....

Not too sure about that Roo. Gum still play Murch, Nagambie, Avenel and Lanky in the run home. Stanny play Murch, Avenel after The Gum this weekend. Nagambie actually play 3 games against current top 6 sides. 4 if you include Lanky!!

Top 2 still too tough to call this early I think, plenty of combinations that could happen yet!
