Re: Kyabram District FL
Not that great I'm afraid, the numbers at training aren't great, but we have had a few new faces at training and a few blokes returning to the club, after a few years out of football, and we should have more than enough numbers for the 3rds, which is vital.
We play Girgarre Wednesday night (and we play Stanhope's seconds the Friday after), and whether we get enough players to get a team for the first game, is the big question, I hope so, that all I can say. .
As far as having a 16 a side Reserves competition goes, I'm all for it, not only for our sakes but for a few other clubs as well (Yea, Violet Town, Nagambie, etc), really it should be stated that if one (or both) sides can only get say less than 19 players, it should be decided by the respective club captains that a 16 a side match be played.
If both sides have more than 20 players available, then the normal 18 a side match should prevail.
I think that the GVFL does this for the likes of Kyabram & Euroa when their twos were short of numbers and it seemed to have worked well, but I doubt that this proposal will have the numbers, because the last time this was brought up (three years ago), it was knocked on the head.
Can anyone tell me how Murchison is going for numbers, I read today they have entered the Gig night series, but looking at all the departing players in the league transfers, there wouldnt be many left to play.
