Brisbane had their measure throughout the whole match, if anything that scoreline was flattering because of the weather conditions that day.

Seems to me you have quite a few smart things to say there Wayde, but supporting your argument with the Collingwood Brisbane game isnt helping your cause.
Try looking a little harder into the history books to find a Norm Smith winner from a team that may have lost buy a large margin.
Seems your fairly bitter about Buckley getting the medal, who really should have got it?

Wayde i appreciate your posts, but your Buckley argument is filth. Comparing an 87 point (4 goals scored) margin to collingwoods 9 point loss isnt realistic. Sure i think Buckley was extremely lucky, but Sanders win is on another level.

Wayde, if brisbane won by 87 pts and collingwood only scored 4 goals in the match then you would have an argument. But this is not the same.

Saying that Brisbane had their measure throughout the match when they were only 4 pts up at 3qtr time is not correct.

Only 4 people in the HISTORY of the AFL/VFL have won the Norm Smith in a losing side on Grand Final Day. Rioli 1982 (lost by 18pts), Ablett 1989 (lost by 6pts), Buckley 2002 (lost by 9pts) & Judd 2004 (lost by 4pts).

These stats show that your argument has no merit, and the award voted by the umpires on the weekend was a joke.

If your going to put down the KDFL you have to back it up mate. Which league do you play in? and for what club?

There has been nothing said on here for two days from anyone from Stanhope and certainly nothing from any of the players at all, I can gaurantee yourself and Fergz along with other Ardy followers would have been on here Saturday night gobbing off if you blokes had of won;)

He is from Carngham Linton in the Lexton Plains Football league, and wow it is also a district league just like the KDL so his opinion that it is a better league is just that and doesn't hold much weight here.
Also noticed Noel Jacobs in the best for the losing GF side, he would be 40+ now and was too old and slow when he last played in the KDL for Ardy so if he is getting a game and one of the better players in the GF then I don't think we have anything to worry about what old WATTHE has to say about the KDL.

what a name carngham haha never heard of the Lexton plains league, must be no good. did a bit of research on the league and the clubs involved, i know the area a little and the towns are comparible to towns in the picola league.

Mate, I only put that thing about Nathan Buckley on there because I knew that it would p!ss off a few Collingwood supporters, because I still hear them whine about those two Grand Final losses to the mighty Lions in 2002 & 2003:D.

Willy did play a great game, but as someone else said about Stanhope and them not having won the BOG on the day was due to the fact that they were great all over (especially Brock Clymo, who was exceptional, and probably should've got the medal because he kept Meka goal less), and because of this no-one really stood out, due to Stanhope's consistency.

But, just like the Brownlow, these awards go to those who get the most kicks (rather than those who use the ball more efficiently, or like Brock Clymo are used to play a negating role for their team,), and since that Willy was getting plenty of kicks, and in a losing side that does stand out a lot more, and that's why they went that way, even though selecting an Ardmona player for this award considering the scoreline, was strange to say the least.

I'm not sure about the latter, but I'm assuming you mean Shane "The Ox" Hughan when it comes to the former. The Ox plays for Mooroopna (Goulburn Valley Football League) and had a very good year by all reports. While he's not a gun, he's played 100+ games in the GVFL and would kill it at KDFL level

While on the subject of goal kickers.
Is Meka playing on?
Is Mills staying at V.T.?
There was a wisper in the crowd on Sun that Mills was going back to Euroa. Was appointed Ass Coach at V.T. and is leaving after 1 year if the wisper is true. I was told the club and league may have been a little too ferral for the socks up, jumper tucked in foword.
Also on V.T. is Trotter not coaching again, I see the job has been advertised.
Although V.T. wasnt able to match the big boys in the finals I would think with a better draw (playing the strong sides more than once) V.T. would be able to improve on this year.
Trotter seems to post, so why are you not coaching? Or is it the old if someone better comes along Ill do the team thing and give up my spot so they can coach?

Ardy players attack one of their own, two brothers fighting each other to get at a 2s player who "villified their Missus". 2s players responds with an iron bar in the change rooms? :thumbsdown:
