Souvlaki King on Brunswick St
Haci's on Bell St
Bill's Kebabs in Torquay

The Torquay one got an absolute flogging out of us on schoolies, would have gone there 5 times for lunch during our 8 day stay. Best kebab I've ever had.

It wouldn't be based on you being drunk all of schoolies would it ;)

i can't beleive this is happening, i've been out of adelaide for 5 months and i can't remember what they call kebabs there!?!
Probably best you forget most things from Adelaide ;)

Living in the northern suburbs we are spoiled for choice for excellent kebabs, the 2 i frequent the most are easily Kebab Box (Campbelfield) and Haci's. I used to go to Orry's Kebabs just after the Barry Rd/Hume Hwy intersection but ive moved onto better things.

Kebab Box just nudges out Haci's for me though (maybe due to the chips)

I've had kebabs from Katik, Bizzler, Kebab Box, Ottoman Kebabs, Lazoz Kebab, Orry's Kebabs, Meadow Heights Kebab House etc.

But nothing comes close to Roxy Kebab in Roxburgh Park.

Been there, wasn't my favourite. Probably about a 3.8.

Forgot to mention Bizzler (few shops down from Katik). Very nice and really filling.

If you go to KB often, I've probably seen you there. I have Haci ahead because their garlic sauce is so damn good and their meat is a good amount of oily, but KB is more fresh and their chips are so crisp and clean.

i have a mr kebab in my local shopping centre. does a pretty good job. would be a high 3 to a low 4 (or 1 on the binary scale)

they also do pizza cones :thumbsu:

That place is so packed most of the time i wouldnt be surprised if we've crossed paths :thumbsu:. Roxy kebabs is average although ive only been there once maybe i should give it another whirl.

Worst Kebab ive ever had was in Epping Plaza i think the place was called Adonis Kebabs, ****ing pathetic. This was 5 years ago now and i still remember it . Also this thread made me get a kebab for lunch at work, Golden Grill in Werribee 3.5/5 the tin foil really annoyed me.

That's it.

I'm getting a kebab for lunch.
Ended up going to Bundoora Kebab's for lunch. Got a doner with chilli sauce. Got back to work and they confused chilli with cheese. I seriously can't understand why anyone would put cheese on a kebab it just takes away from the meat and garlic sauce. Also, without the chilli sauce my kebab really lacked bite. The meat was juicy and tender however overall the kebab was quite small and not really enough to fill you up on its own.

Overall probably rate the experience 3/5.

All this talk about Haci's reminds me of my friends usual late night snack. 3 lamb kebab's with garlic sauce, lettuce and tomato - no onion. Used to have one for the car ride home and two when he got home. Not sure how he does it to be honest.

Worst I've had besides the ones I've already listed, are all those stupid little Ali Baba kebab joints that you find in most shopping centres. Meat is always burnt, the bread tastes expired. When I have kebabs, I make sure not to get the ones with the big arse Turkish bread (as yummy as it is) so that they can't stinge on the meat.

You just had Golden Grill for lunch? What did you think of the actual kebab?

Was decent nothing memorable, had it with all the trimmings+chilli sauce. It's the closest kebab joint to where i work so it's good enough for the occasional lunch time meal.

So true, unless you're having a chicken kebab. Chicken + cheese in a kebab = heaven.

Also, without the chilli sauce my kebab really lacked bite.
When I have kebabs, I usually get the traditional doner with extra meat, garlic sauce, lettuce, tomatoes and onions and tzatziki. From my experience, if you want bite, don't add chilli sauce. Just add jalapenos.

Never understood people who asked for sweet chilli sauce in their kebab. Tastes disgusting, and just doesn't go with meat.

My dad had a mate who always asked for his kebabs with extra, extra, extra, extra meat. They were usually so big he couldn't even hold it.

For South Australian folk, Savvas Yiros on Unley Rd does the finest kebabs in the city, their falafel is also out of this world.

Are they kebabs or Yiros? That Meat Loaf shit you get at mainly interstate franchised "kebab" joints is pretty rancid. I still can't go past Yanni's in Hindley Street. Geez I miss working in the city.

Whats the kebab shop called in Flinders Lane next to the Police Station? I rate that one very highly.

Would it be incorrect to say that kebabs are the "healthiest" fast food you can get?

f*** why i am reading this thread at lunchtime so craving one now!
for us perthians theres a great one in freo and some one near pot black in northies
