yeah I have similar thoughts. I was thinking we could take either Serong or Flanders at 3, to play as a small forward who can also go for a burst on ball. and then take either Kemp or Gould at 8, as I think we need a bigger body type than what Young offers and he'll most likely be gone by then anyway.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Gould slip into the second round.

If not convinced by Kemp's body that pick 8 Melbourne can always be moved down for two picks, with the intent of getting Gould with that second pick and someone else good with that earlier of the two picks, or grab one of those picks to get Gould and then get Gold Coast's mid 2020 first rounder if they're desperate to move up this year.

yep there's a lot of options open to us. I wouldn't be surprised to see something like that happen. does your head in at times.

I'll second that..My lad goes to Rostrevor and not one teacher there has had anything but high praise for Cam on all levels. He has also exhibited real leadership qualities and is extremely athletic. He also averaged just over 2 goals per game at SANFL league level in his 1st year. This year it was injury that interrupted his year and if the crows could snare him with a 20's pick, I'd be very very happy
Have heard cam is a ripping young bloke. The attitude on field that everyone is judging him off is actually him just being hard on himself and wants to perform well. Would rather have a player that cares too much than not enough.

Taheny I have top 40 at this stage, and his range if fairly wide because views differ. Good talent and seems to find his way of kicking a few goals off limited opportunities without finding much of it, which is where the variation if view comes from. I see his speed as only average and view him more as a smart type who finds a way to get it i50 and is a pretty good mark. As you say really nice kick i50 and on goal. Reminds me a fair bit of Daniel Menzel.

His speed is far from average. He is seriously explosive. It's more the way he plays which doesn't highlight it often and is part of the the main concern around him. I have watched him at training in the middle for the league side and his explosion through the middle was seriously frightening. For mine he has as much pure athletic talent as almost anyone in the draft. On talent I have him a definite top ten but I also have so many questions around his work ethic, maturity, attitude when faced by adversity ect.

In the end though as a Geelong fan I would have no issue with us taking him at 24. I think he has heaps more talent than others around that mark and is worth the risk. High risk high reward but if he pays off there is not doubt he will be a steal that people can't believe went so late. He has freakish abilities.

Reminds me a bit of Aaron Fiora. I think he'll get picked up, I just think he'll slide a bit. Just my opinion. I'm gonna guess 50-60. Pretty limited spots for slightly built lead ups at 185cm, normally they're a bit taller 190ish, Lynch (crows), Gunston.

There is absolutely no way he goes that late IMO. No way. He's just too talented. There are so many maybes from about 30 onwards in this draft that you just can't ignore someone with his natural ability.

My only concerns are not talent based, he has that in spades but his effort and body language when things aren't going well for him can be a bit worrying at times but I'm like you if he gets to the Crows pick 28 and 37 I can't see us not making the call.

This is my exact take on him. However he is just immature for his age. He needed more guidance than he got from his manager this year IMO. Sort of kid that needs close attention to help him maintain his focus. I'm reasonably confident it will come with age and experience but the club he goes to will have to realise the personality they are getting and develop accordingly.

Think this best illustrates what Cam's capable of when "switched" on....

Second or third round Taheny is suitable for selection.

I would have liked to have seen Taheny given midfield chances this year. Had he played through there and played well, he'd be in the first round conversation.

In game his speed doesn't show up often. Taheny is frustrating because he'll feel almost invisible almost every game, but then bob up for a few goals without many if any other notable moments.

Knightmare have you heard if there is a genuine chance dees do bid on Green and GWS don't match?

It's sounding possible. GWS have been consistent in saying they will only match if it's the right number.

My feel is they'd match if it's pick 4. If it's pick 3, I'm not sure because I'm hearing strong word that GWS are red hot on Jackson.

It's not like there's any real difference between matching at 3 or 4 in terms of points, nor any guarantee Jackson will make it to 6.

Depends on whether both Adelaide and Sydney pass on Jackson. They both very well may.

Melbourne, GWS and Fremantle are the teams inside the top-10 I've heard express interest in Jackson. Have yet to hear that interest from Adelaide or Sydney.

So what you plan to do ? Bizare or not Bizare I did not said management already decided not to pick him up, I said is not up to you to said Is right or wrong decision about a player not on your list, also is not your responsible to said GCS should take second and third Rd from Carlton. Trading multiple second Rd to Eagles is the most bizare decision GCS management even made not Martin.

Ok.

BTW are you drunk posting this?

I wouldn't trust anything a club says at this time of year. Melbourne expressed interest in Green and the two players most linked to GWS, Young and Jackson. I wonder why?
Wasn’t all the talk that gws moved up the order to try get McGrath a few years back but apparently they wanted Taranto the whole time.

KM do you think GWS will match a bid on Green from the Swans if Jackson is still available with their next pick? I'm starting to think that they may not match as I think a player like Jackson fits their needs more than Green, as talented as he is!

Would be a great result for the Swans if this were the case!

This is one of the big questions I have at the moment.

Do GWS rate Briggs/Flynn enough to pass on Jackson if they believe they can get him?

I don't rate Flynn at this time while Briggs I categorise in the too early to tell basket. So the ruck position definitely over the long run isn't solidified by any means. Do GWS share my evaluation? To what extent?

On the other hand, GWS' midfield for mine is even without Green the strongest and deepest in the competition bar none.

GWS moved up deliberately. It may be because they think they can secure Jackson and that narrative is growing legs. It would depend a lot on what Melbourne do at 3 though and their decision may decide it for GWS.

Hey Knightmare, regarding the questions on whether GWS choose to match a bid on Green, shouldn’t the response also consider who GWS would be able to get with a top 10/11 pick in 2020?

You would think in the event of a bid on Green, then a backstop for a trade would be pick 6 and 2020 1st from GWS for picks 15, 20 and pick 11 in 2020 from GCS. GCS get their desired extra top 10 pick this year and GWS get a certain top 11 pick in 2020. Win/win.

this also makes the decision in the posts above either: (i) Jackson; or (ii) Green plus 2020 pick 11. Which one do you think GWS do, (i) or (ii)?

Is Pickett a genuine first round option? Was hoping he’d slide to North in the 20s but is looking more unlikely by the day.
