Yep, although being Naracoorte, that doesn't always translate (town folk more likely (on balance) to head to university i.e. don't end up in the seniors).
Not sure how the South East fares with expats but in the Mid North a lot of the uni students (both football and netball) often come back every weekend.

Not a big thing in the Limestone Coast League. Does happen but not often. Parents for one don’t want their kids travelling that far every weekend. Millicent might have a couple of travellers this year .. not sure.
West 20 odd years ago flew a bunch of Adelaide players down each week as a real desperate measure.

I hope they keep playing despite the big losses in the seniors, Naracoorte will bounce back in time. Just lost a lot of experience this season.
They'll be fine. Another 20 goal loss yesterday and the B's seem to be doing even worse. These things happen so sit back and take it in!

Both junior teams undefeated which is nice.

It's already been mentioned I think, but aside from Naracoorte, the league is looking really good this year.

Could this be the year for Kyby?
I'm Naracoorte thru and thru (they are our great rivals) but I would not have a problem with that. If I'm not mistaken, they (Kyby) are right up there in the list of country footy teams since they last won a premiership. It's something like 50 years, so good on 'em if they can do it. Hey, they might be Naracoorte's rivals, but they are the tigers after all (I see you are a Richmond fan too ... we gotta get some success somewhere this year since it's not gonna be AFL for a while ;) )

Probably happier where they are. Don't blame them.
Believe there may have been a meeting at Kaniva about rejoining KNTFL. Unanimously rejected by members.
Interesting. I feel for KLU...they are in no man's land to some extent (quite a bit closer to Adelaide than Melbourne) but it's gotta be almost impossible for them to recruit Adelaide-based players when there's games in places like Stawell, Rupanyup, etc.

I wonder if they also discussed potential mergers (e.g. revisit the Nhill merger that was mooted a couple of years ago)

Were definitely at their strongest in KNTFL when had a strong Adelaide contingent. Dont believe merger is on the horizon either, wernt impressed with Nhill in previous discussions, however they do have strong junior numbers so going forward have a solid base.

Geographically, Nhill are probably the only option so if that's out then they (KLU) are going alone!

Speaking of Nhill, I noticed this today:

Upgrades

Renders look nice. It's hard to know for sure if the money is locked in but it does appear to be, so fingers crossed for them.

Money is certainly locked in. Just hope everything comes within budget. It's been a long time coming to get a replacement for the old grandstand.

Thanks for that, mate. Probably should have posed the question the Wimmera thread ... that's the trouble when you follow multiple leagues

The state’s peak football body is now saying it will not force any Mid South East Football League clubs to join the new Limestone Coast Football Netball League.

Interesting. Solidarity amongst the MidSE clubs it would seem! It's been pretty much that way since this whole thing started. Forcing a club to change leagues would have been problematic anyway, so maybe not a bad thing. Penola did it willingly and got to play a "farewell" season in the KNT.
