I think the pies would be leading the way. he trained with them last preseason and looking at the amount of power kids they have recruited he's a fair chance to go there?

It will depend on the pick the Pies have. Right now i'd say he'd be a top 10 prospect so the Pies would probably need to miss the finals.

Will compliment Ziebell very nicely.

North will most likely have a pick around his range, and I dare say they will be going for another ball winner, over an outside runner.

Strengths:

  • Build. I don't think i've ever met a 17 year old as tank as this bloke
  • Kicking Penetration. absolutely dynamite over 40 metres.. low and flat bullet passes
  • Vertical leap. one of those midfielders who is really good overhead.
  • Goal Kicking. rarely plays a game without getting on the score sheet at least once (which is something all good midfielders seem to be able to do)
  • Tackling. can play inside and outside. lays a really strong tackle, won't be out of place at the elite level in close, yet can still do the explosive outside stuff
  • Mentally. the kid will make a great leader. keeps working hard all game

Weaknesses:

I'm a bit biased here so i'll struggle to find many/if any weaknesses but i suppose every now and then he overcooks short passes because he's got such a powerful kick. nothing serious though.. and some people reckon he tries to do a bit too much by himself sometimes as well. but that's a characteristic i like in a player

Was pretty disappointed with Koby's kicking last week Bourky. Basically all were floaters, no real penetration at all. Definitely know his kicking is better than that but surprised me a little every time he laid boot on ball.

hmm disappointing to hear, were alot of players kicking the same? might have been the ball.. something i've noticed covering local footy this year. sometimes you get a dud ball, not excusing the poor kicking from Koby though, but as you say. we all know he is a great kick 99% of the time

i'm still that shattered that i couldn't make the game (considering i live in Geelong and all)

doesn't mean anything to be honest.

all the AIS boys get a crack at a club, the clubs don't really have a say in who goes where as far as i'm aware. The Institute of Sport just allocates a couple of players per club. Heyne spent time at Carlton but he didn't end up going there.

It's all about where each club rates a particular player on their player priority lists they have on draft day and if that player is on top of the list at that particular pick then he'll go there.

Certainly not ruling out Koby ending up at Collingwood but in reality every club would be interested in him and it'll all depend on where everyone else goes. Surely Collingwood would be interested in drafting a big man as a priority? they have no Key Forwards at all. Ried is a dud.

There's no chance of Stevens getting to Collingwood and you might want to have a closer look at the Pies list. Ben Reid has been playing center half back and doing quite nicely and Chris Dawes form as a key forward in the VFL has been outstanding recently. Their development is tracking nicely so what made you think we didn't have and would be drafting a tall?

A team that doesn't have any key forwards would be a St Kilda. Maguire has played forward for the Zebras but there is practically nothing behind Riewoldt and Kozi on the depth chart.

put a line through Ried, he's a dud. Dawes.. likewise.. sure they might be doing alright in the VFL but if memory serves me correctly they've both been on your list for at least 3-4 years and still can't break into the Collingwood side who is absolutely starved of Key Forwards at the moment. Really says something IMO.. especially Ried who was pick 8 IIRC.

As for St.Kilda.. we drafted Paul Cahill last year and I reckon he's going to be a gun. Tom Lynch is another one who we picked up at pick #13 that is more than capable at playing a key position but i certainly agree with you, i definitely expect us to draft at least one KPP in this years draft.

You know Collingwood better than me, what type of player do you think you guys should be drafting? I would have certainly thought a Ruckman would be high on the agenda?

Collingwood's list has a nice balance so I expect us to take the best player available.

And if you're going to bag Reid at least spell his name right, and I couldn't disagree more regarding out talls, I'm confident Reid (20 years old) and Dawes (21) will both come through at both ends of the ground. Both are much better prospects than Cahill (pick 74, it's seems the clubs weren't as hot for him as you are). And didn't you say on more than one occasion Nick Heyne was a star and would go in the first round? From memory he ended up going in the third round.

I'm happy to let you make the wrong call again but don't expect me to agree with it.

And Tom Lynch is a very good player but there's no way on God's earth he'll be able to play key position at AFL level, he can play just about anywhere else bar the ruck though.

My thoughts to c23 he doesnt seem to open his foot sometimes on impact especially from set shots so lacks that penetrastion . i mentioned it in another thread to bourkey but you know what bourkeys like when one his boys are being talked about ha ha Christ if hine last year had of killed bambi bourkey would have claimed self defence for hine. Seriously tho bourkey has seen a lot more of him than me to be honest.
