Actually the cherry on top would be for Ladhams to be BOG.

Between him, Howard and Frampton we’ve certainly burnt more than our fair share of serviceable talls recently. None of them are superstars but gee they’d be pretty handy inclusions considering the current state of our list.

Meanwhile on FB - “wOtS kEnNy GoT tO wOrK wItH?!”

Ladhams in ruck and a backline of Howard, Frampton and Aliir shits on our current setup

The general vibe of why those players (Ladhams, Howard and Frampton) were shipped off was that they weren’t great for the culture of the club or had big deficiencies or a combination of both. Is that right? Early days but does it say another thing about our leadership and culture that they seem to be going pretty well under Longmire, Lyon and McCrae?

When did any of them become good players? lol

Frampton didn't show a lot, I can live with that one, but both Ladhams and Howard had significant attributes. The reasons for getting rid of Howard didn't make sense at the time and they still don't. Baffling decision.
Ladhams is a bit of a doofus and clearly had some discipline issues, but truckloads of great footballers have discipline issues. He has some elite attributes. But the first sign of "he's a bit different" and Hinkles and the gang ship him off.
Both play in the positions of our greatest need. As I said, baffling.

As much as I love Ladhams and Frampton (both were my favourite players before being traded), the decision to trade Dougal was maybe the most ridiculous one we've ever made. Wasn't he made a stand-in captain for a game right before the offseason he was traded? Gotta mean he'd be a part of the long term future at his age but apparently not.

Yeah, we traded out Billy Frampton who Ken did not want to play and retained Sam Hayes who Ken does not want to play. At least we are consistent in our approach to developing big men.

There are not that many many big men that we have developed under Hinkley. Lycett came from West Coast, Dixon from Gold Coast, Aliir from Sydney, Ryder was from Essendon and the list goes on. Todd Marshall is one of the few that big men that Ken can claim has grown under his guidance. There plenty that we have drafted under Ken then discarded.

It's also worth noting that we shipped him off whilst proclaiming that Sam Hayes was "the best young ruck in the AFL not getting a game"

A year later and they're running with a rotating roster of forwards in the role while Lycett is out injured.
