Just in from the club. No news on Duncan, Stanley or Dangerfield yet.

Humphries info is confusing - club press release says 'committed for a further year until the end of 2027' while also saying he was OOC at the end of 2025.

Geelong have received a quadruple boost with Jake Kolodjashnij, Jed Bews, Lawson Humphries and Ted Clohesy signing new deals with the Club.

Both 2022 Premiership players, Kolodjashnij (end of 2026) and Bews (end of 2025) have extended their time after playing a key role in Geelong’s run to a Preliminary Final in 2024.

Despite not being out of contract until the end of 2025, Humphries has committed to the Club for a further year, making him a Cat until at least the end of 2027.

After making his AFL debut in Round 24 2023 against the Western Bulldogs, Clohesy has inked a one-year extension until the end of 2025.

conspiracy theory alert. the hump is from WA, there's a vic guy currently at eagles whose contract also ends in 2026...

Well. All those signing get my tick of approval... lol.
I would have liked an extra year on Humphreys but hey the boys not a dill he knows he will cash in if he continues on his trajectory.
Kolo and Bews both great foot soldiers get rewarded for a decade of great service.
As for Teddy. I see good things coming for the lad next year.

Not sure if you're aware, but Lawson was already signed to the end of next year and has added one more on top of that. Ergo he now has another 2 years.

Maybe Humphries is another Tim Kelly Situation, but the club haven't let it out, I will still enjoy watching him play for the hoops next few years.

I'm thinking news on Dangerfield, Duncan & Stanley comes out after trade period is over
Just a theory....

Maybe whether Rhys plays on or not will be dictated by whether or not Oliver lands at the Cats.

If Oliver arrives, Blitz's big body may no longer be needed in the midfield (& to relief ruck) so he could go back to Defence releasing SDK to play the ruck role / backup to Toby & resting forward.

If Oliver doesn't arrive, we run with Toby/Rhys with Blitz as the backup & SDK in Defence.

Humphries is interesting. 1 year is a bit of a nothing extension when he's already contracted for next season.

Perhaps he wants to try and cash in after this contract is up. But could just as easily have done that next year if he continues on his current trajectory.
If I were Humphries' manager, watching him go from a complete newcomer (on very low pay) to a potential star in the making, there's no way I'd let him sign anything beyond two years from now. No chance. Let him prove himself, increase his value, and then talk to the club (and any other interested clubs) when his two years is up. And Geelong would expect nothing different. It's good we've extended a year. And now he and the club need to prove that they're the best match for each other for the future. I hope we do, because he's ace.

I have heard this same rumor.
I know it's not ideal as Humphries will continue to blossom into a legitimate star but if it means we have the best opportunity of landing Reid as part of the trade without having to hand over too much more, I think most would consider it.

Reid's ceiling is next level something else.
