What is his contract situation? I see him as the no.1 target for us. He would be a perfect fit for us. Key position payer at both ends, young all be it a little injury prone. Dont forget his first season of AFL. He is/ or was a Kangaroos supporter. I just cant see how we'd work out a trade deal like that. I am sure that we could fit him in our cap if we were able to broker a deal. I'd like to know if anyone else think of a deal. I think that our first pick dosent really I also really rate Powell from the Saints, intresting to see he was dropped last week for first final.

Here's my idea
Kosi & Powell-----------> Roos
One of Grant/Harvey and Harding for first round pick of richmond/dogs
our first round pick(10) & corey jones(?)---------------> saints

Leaves us with Kosi, Powell and pick 3 or 4
We lose Harvey/Grant, corey jones and harding and pick 10

note:Grant would be the prefferable option

Am i dreaming here??? :)

Why do you want to target an injury riddled *******? Just because he was a Roos fan as a kid doesn't make it worthwhile.

Steven Powell? In short - no.

Would take Kosi if he came at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, I think St Kilda would want more than I'd be willing to give up.

I think Koschitzke can play, and if he came (hypothetically) by way of the pre-season draft I'd get him in a second.

Having to give up good players and/or draft picks, plus a pretty decent salary, I'd be hesitant to chase too hard, but if you don't throw in an ambit claim you won't find out if you can ultimately commit a back-alley mugging on the other club.

The mere suggestion smacks of Leigh Colbert 5 years ago though... Mooney and Welsh are bit part players at their clubs, and Colbert is integral to North despite the fact his injury worries have continued. It took him 3 years to find his feet but I still reckon we gave up nothing for him in the end.

This comment shows how much you know.

Kosi would be a great pickup but we'd have to trade heaven and earth to get him and even then I'm not even sure a) they'd want to let him go b) he'd want to go

Powell - we have enough unskilled midfielders already. He has also played for 3 different clubs already for only very short periods of time. Who's to say he won't be gone again in a year or 2??

Koschitzke - he isn't "a little injury prone", he is always injured!! Plus his value is already inflated by the fact that he was a former top 2 draft pick. I would only do it if we could get him on the cheap, which would be really unlikely. This would include not giving up either of Grant or Harvey.

Kosi won't be the only saint that will come onto the market in the next 2 - 3 years, their list will slowly come unravelled all because of Aaron Hamills ridiculous 5 year deal.

Watching the Lions-Saints game on Friday night, to me, Kosi really didn't look like he wanted to be out there. I get the feeling he is a bit unhappy at St Kilda. And didnt his father have a go at the St Kilda coaching staff last year for playing Kosi with some sort of back injury?

I'd take him in a second, players of his size and versatility dont grow on trees.

Well do elaborate upon when he has done anything of note, and the rising star is not an excuse.

As Year Of The Roo has righly pointed out, he spends more time in the medical room than on the field. We don't need a crock, let alone one who has shown next to nothing.

If you watched, he has done enough to suggest he can more than play the game. Atm there are question marks due to injury which hurts consistency. Also hurting consistency is been shoved all over the place, as he is unlikely to get either of the positions he was born for (FF/CHF). By the time he does things of note, that his critics recognize he’ll be worth 3 times as much.

Its funny, we all recognize Harvey as untouchable, unless he wants to go elsewhere. If he does we are all happy to trade. Yet most don’t even want to sus out Kosi. Kosi or Rawlings? Id take Kosi easy, so offer our first 2 picks, would be well worth it imo. Sure they’re not the greatest picks in the world, but Kosi inst worth much more yet. But once he ‘does something of note’, he’ll be worth 2 top 10 picks at least!!

At North he would be paid his worth, nothing more nothing less. He could be a franchise player, or have every opportunity to be so. At the Saints he’ll never be the go to man, he and the football world know it!

thankyou

No need to convince me Roostar and NeoBlaze. I hope we can show an interest and see what happens. He wont become cheaper, the time is now! We have expendable draft picks due to our talent coming through and with smith father son. So either first two picks or a player i mentioned, and the roos would be foolish not to deal. Class is class.

I just love the thought Kosi in our spine with Brown and Petrie, Hale, McIntosh to a lesser extent Jones and Perry(whom I really rate after watching him in the last few weeks). Would really give us a fantastic base for the future.

Instead of talking in generalisations, why don't you get specific? Or can't you think of any? I bet the first straw you'd go for would be "oh but he did a good job on Brown a fortnight ago". Got more?

Didn't you know? He's won 12 best and fairests, got 16 premiership medallions, won 4 brownlows in his 4 years since he was drafted! Plus! no less, two weeks ago he played a good job on brown.

Dos Santos Aveiros, how about these:

Justin Koschitzke

Date of Birth: 20 September 1982 YOUNG

Debut: 2001

Guernsey Number: 23

Height 197cm TALL

Recruited From: Albury (NSW)/Murray U18 OUR OLD REGION

Weight: 96kg READY TO GO

ABOUT
After his injury-ruined 2002, the athletic young star returned to play 17 games in 2003, although an ankle injury suffered at Subiaco in round eight cost him four matches. Such is his versatility that his best position is still to be found – he rucked admirably in the last eight rounds, but three times in his first eight games he booted three goals, including a day out against the Bulldogs when he had 20 disposals and took 13 marks. Definite leadership material.

Draft history: 2000 National AFL Draft 1st round selection (St Kilda) No. 2 overall.

PLAYER HONORS
AFL Rising Star 2001. That would indicate ability - not a nomination - see stnick that year??

That is the start of my argument. If you think he is no good, you are kidding yourself

And Andrew Symonds is a ruckman/forward for Fremantle.

The only problem with him is he is always injured. Other then that of course we would take him.
He is an injury risk and that is a major cause of concern. At the right price you would jump at the oportunity.
He is exactly what we need. IF fit. That's a big if.

ummmm, i got it for afl.com.au

Blind Freddie could tell you that its obvious he can play and would be great for us. I dont need to make arguments for him to play for the roos. Hes young, nearly 100kg, 197 cm, athletic, can play either end and pinch hit ruck. He is what we are crying out for.

Yes that’s probably the first thing I would’ve mentioned, purely because its what most people would recognise. But my opinion is based on much more, the way he moves, the way he kicks, how he attacks a pack, speed, endurance and importantly his aggressiveness. This kid has hunger………. ‘eye of the tiger’, which will no doubt be wasted where he is, bcos no matter what he does he will always play second string to StNick.

No I don’t have every little thing about him filed away to please you, I follow North, but ive seen enough to convince me.

At our club he would be second best shot on goal behind Sav, best contested mark and best endurance for a 190cm + player. He moves well on the lead, and has sound lateral movement. He will be damn good, how good I don’t know. But I do know his worth is only going up from here on in.
