Krakouer broken jaw

So he was outside Capitol in the city on a Saturday night. Wouldn't surprise me if he got king hit. Roided up meth heads everywhere.

Better off going out in Northbridge these days. Been cleaned up quite a bit, now all of the deros head into the city.
Yep the incident I alluded to in my previous post my mate got a perfurated ear drum from some wacked out druggie in Sydney. You could tell by looking at his eyeballs he was loaded up with chemicals.

Krak broke team rules and he gets punished for that, but if he was waiting outside a club and wasnt pissed and wasnt causing trouble he shouldnt get punished by the club for that. If he started the fight then yeah he deserves a heavy penalty.

Silly thing is he could have drunk double he did, gone home in a cab from wherever he was before the Capitol, avoided getting wacked in the jaw and nobody would have known a thing about it and life would have carried on in blissful ignorance.

Yeah, just hanging out outside nightclubs, just what every young person does these days. They are normally locked out very late or after a skinful. It's very difficult to get into a fight if ;
1. you are sober
2. you aren't out past midnight
3. you really don't want to fight.

All three of which Krakouer seemingly ignored.

Great post Dad. I once had some bloke walk up to me and my mates, start yelling incoherently and then punch me in the side of the head at 6pm at a chip shop. I suppose that was my fault?

Krakouer is an idiot for drinking while in injury rehab and that alone is worthy of a sanction, but it's a massive leap to go from that to him being at fault for the fight.

Geez, terrible news. All the best to Krak in his recovery. Would be incredibly scary getting attacked like that. We hear too many stories of young men having the lives ended or messed up due to wanna be tough guys throwing punches.
He's shown himself to be a hard worker the past few years. From where he came from getting back to the Maggies and then on to the senior side has shown a lot of resolve. I'm sure we'll see him back in the second half of the year.

From a completely selfish point of view, with all the talk of him getting his fitness base up I thought he was a smokey at all Australian this year. Our best disposer by foot We'll miss his his clean passes coming out of the backline more than we think. They fact we could swing him forward as well meant he would have been a valuable contributor.

Disappointing that he was out drinking, though his hammy was listed as being assessed so most likely fine, I would have thought? I can't help but feel some of the moralising is getting a bit over the top. Crouch missed a preseason game for drinking before the game, Krak drinks 16 days out from game day and everyone losses their minds. The leadership team have dished out their punishment, I'm sure it's been accepted and everyone will move on from here.

From where he has come from I cut Nathan some slack. I'm probably in the minority tho'. Didn't the 3 day break
for the group include having a drink. Maybe that doesn't apply to players in rehab(?). The playing group sanctions
on Krak are severe but I support them coz you have to. Bear in mind what he has done in the last 3yrs.

To be honest, redemption is never linear. Krak has put in enormous effort in the past year and a bit to get to where he is now. We have given him every chance to succeed, and all the support in the world and we should feel betrayed at these events. However, he has also given back an immeasurable amount to our aboriginal programs and has also been a great story for us.

That is until now. Obviously in no way is he entitled to slip up, but everyone knows he faces relatively unique circumstances and was never going to be a complete angel, we knew that when we picked him up, but the club should be entitled to feel angry. He has earned this further chance to stick around the club, that much is obvious to me.

It is very clear to me that if he hadn't put in as much work as he has so far, he would have been out the door. Sometimes it takes this sort of situation for someone to realise just how close to the wind they are sailing, and just how easily every single bit of his hard work can slip through his fingers. This is the last chance, no ifs, no buts. Whether this breach of trust on his journey is fatal, we'll know by the end of this year.

I'm more baffled at the being at a nightclub during rehab than drinking alcohol. In his situation, a beer at home on the lounge is much better than a sober night on the town. He did both the drinking and the clubbing though so I guess it doesn't matter.

Listening to Chris Davies make a point about how disappointed in himself Nathan is and that the club will make a point of 'putting their arms around him' makes me think that they are satisfied that his remorse is genuine and that it was just what we've been told. There is no suggestion that Nathan was guilty of any violence himself and the problems he had in the past were never violence related, just lack of self-discipline and maybe alcohol, although that has never been mentioned specifically.

So we know that he went out drinking, due to the fact that someone broke his jaw. Makes you wonder how many times he and anyone else has done it before and not been assaulted.

Unless he plays a blinder of a season he's getting cut at the end of the season.

Silly thing is he could have drunk double he did, gone home in a cab from wherever he was before the Capitol, avoided getting wacked in the jaw and nobody would have known a thing about it and life would have carried on in blissful ignorance.

But he did, we want players that are totally on board with what the club is trying to achieve, not guys who say one thing and do another.

Good call by the leadership group.

Meanwhile, at Richmond, what round is Martin banned til?
That's it. Our club and leaders have set a standard and put their foot down on it. That's what strong clubs do with these incidents.

We can now move on now, rather then rely on the AFL to do the work for them like some of the other clubs do.
