Idiots didnt make it clear if he is allowed to train with us surely that would be the case?

I presume he could, given that he is suspended not de-registered, but I wouldn't have thought it was clear if he could play ressies for us, after all normally when players are suspended they cannot do so, although there have been exceptions made (eg Justin Sherman).

they said "AFL Home and Away matches" not reserves. seems he will be able to play for the ressies for a couple of months to keep his fitness up.

Normally if a player is suspended, for H&A matches, during the season he is not eligible to play in the reserves during the period of that suspension.

Admittedly this is an unusual case but I would have thought the default is no ressies and we would have to seek permission from the AFL for him to play in the NEAFL, assuming of course he ends up at the Swans.

Tippett should appeal he would win in a real court but I think he is just glad its over, bloody Adelaide scum.

If anything I would think we might ask for permission for him to play in the NEAFL in the 2/3 weeks leading up to round 12, otherwise we'll have no option but to play him for a match or maybe two in Reserves after the suspension ends effectively extending the suspension.

i reckon companred to KT, craws got off lightly....another 1 year loss of 1st 2 rounds in the draft would ahve been more acceptable...he misses half a season compared to crows 2 rounds of picks of players that may or may not make it at afl level....i thought he shuold have got NAb cup abnd maybe 6 weeks...its liek they blamed him in full for it all....wanks.....

Adelaide were "nudge nudge wink winked" into giving up their pick this year. That stopped that same happening in 2014. Have no issue as the giving up of the picks was at the suggestion of the AFL more the Adelaide's. As for Tippett he got half a season off and a 50k fine, effectively the same a Trigg and Reid. AFL Commission laying the blame at the feet at the 3 of them equally.

So Kurt didn't know what he was signing was a illegal contract

Funny that

1. why does he have a manager, surely his manager should be advising and instructing him

2. Isn't Kurt's manager the same Manager that got Scully to GWS with the side deal to pay Scully dad double the salary of a recruitment officer

Surely you see a pattern here

Buyer Beware

Id sue the manager, but Im led to believe it might get someone else in trouble and he is protecting him best he can.

Why on earth would gws get him now. Paying him close to a million dollars and him sitting out half the year when they have zero chance of playing finals. Just does not seem like good business. Oh and he doesn't wanna play there

Even if he doesn't play, it is effectively paying $900k for a first round draft pick which is what they would get for him at the end of 2013.

Part of Tippett's statement after the judgement;
I trusted the Adelaide Football Club and for the duration of my contract I did my utmost for the club on and off the field. It is bitterly disappointing, then, to learn that my trust and best endeavours have been to my substantial detriment.

I pleaded guilty to the two charges on advice without any admission of liability and despite being assured there were valid defences available to me in respect to both charges.

So a presumably negotiated settlement that resulted in a 6 month suspension and a $50k fine, but he doesn't admit liability and had "valid defences".

Nothing I read about this bloke fills me confidence, he appears totally unwilling to accept responsibility for his actions.
He signed the off contract agreement, he agreed to the underwriting deal, he signed the stat dec that the contract lodged with the AFL covered the full scope of his financial arrangements with Adelaide, he was 22 years old when he undertook those actions.

Even today, 3 years later, he wants to blame someone else.
Adelaide, their employees, Tippett and his manager Blucher, all deserve to be held to account.
My concern is that we will likely employ one of them as from next season and make him one of the highest paid players in the competition.

Still dont want him and I will maintain this stance right up until we sign him.

Afterwards I will rag on him At every opportunity, then when he gets us over line or stands up in a final. I'll edit all my posts and maintain that he's always enjoyed my full support.

Yep i said that a few posts ago mate :) they could see Tippett as a trade commodity and get compensation.

Great minds think alike :p I only caught the last page, too much to catch up on.

I think if the term is long enough then it might be problematic and limit where they could off-load him to. If Swans are the only realistic option after 2013 and you guys go cold on getting him then they will be stuck with some expensive baggage.

How would they get first round pick? they would harder time them what crows had this year as they need find a club willing to pay his wage which is probably going to back ended and the trade still has to be agreed upon by Tippett.

Even if he doesn't play, it is effectively paying $900k for a first round draft pick which is what they would get for him at the end of 2013.
