Just on the points cap again. If we are serious about "equalisation" shouldn't we be giving sides lower on the ladder more points and create a tiered system based on previous years finish?
It would help clubs with a rebuild not much different in philosophy to the draft systems in AFL, NBA etc.

For example:
Top 2 : 41
3-4: 42
5-6:44
7-9:46
10-11: 48

Otherwise I honestly see no point to any of these caps. It presumes all clubs have an even playing field and they don't. The only thing this system achieves is to ensure less quality talent comes into the KDL.

It's how it works in many leagues

And do a Rennie

And do a Rennie
lol Rennie, used less points this year in winning the flag than they would have in the previous two seasons .
An ex Rennie junior is on an AFL list and the best ruckman in country vic is also a ex Rennie junior . Whilst next year's Bushrangers TAC squad has two Rennie players in it.
But yea they aren't developing junior players.
lol lol

If points are the sole determining factor of the quality of a side why is it that the same side has won the last 2 KDFL GF's with almost 20 points spare whilst you have clubs who have won a handful of games in the past 10 years struggling to stay within their points cap.
Likewise, in regards to the premiers, in the GVFL and MFL.
For the 2 years the same premier's and an increase in sides forfeiting games, tell me thats good for footy and the footy clubs communities.

Its a reflection of clubs having good junior programs and being able to retain players. Will be interesting to see how Nagambie go down the track having not had 3rds for the past couple of seasons.

Anyway how many points was Rennies GF winning side?

If a club has developed 4 players who are playing AFL , VFL or TAC I'd suggest not only have they done a great job in developing juniors but they should also be afforded more points to replace that quality.
Do we really want to get to the stage that clubs are trying to entice their kids out of national or state comps ?

I'd suggest every club has juniors playing at a higher level somewhere.

No doubt but if the clubs who produce the players who get poached do not get point cap relief to replace why would they bother. If leagues like the KDFL cop a extra point for recruits out of GVFL regardless if they are past their prime and get no point relief for their own being cherry picked the comp is merely there for the benefit of the GVFL clubs and the comp is only going to continually decline in standard. Furthermore, you mentioned Nagambie struggling due to lack of juniors in the future , they can comfortably just continually pick up 3 x 4 pointers every year .
