Taking nothing away from Braydon and this is no slight on him as a footballer or person, nothing wrong with being in the top 10 best players in a league, but I won’t be backing down on my opinion that there are better footballers ahead of him in the comp, I think I mentioned Simpson, Davies and Formosa as some that I had ahead and I think the league vote count and the GF has, if anything, added more weight to that, not less. Formosa more votes, Davies leading before injury and Simpson plenty of votes and a two time GF BOG recipient. I’m pretty happy with my opinions still 😉

As a neutral supporter in the matter, never seen so much denial, avola has been knocking on the door for a while now, and finally won it. Definitely won of the best players in the comp. We no if Kormsa was eligible he would have won, but when Avenel played longwood avola lead a comeback to win. And got the 3 votes.

No dig my end, just felt a bit cheeky at the time hank and will always back my own! Plenty of good players in the comp, but couldn’t be happier to see Brayds win what he’s been so close to the last few years and join our Macca club!

What is the logic behind the rule for a reprimand making a player ineligible?
It seems many don’t agree with this league rule - maybe they or a club could take it to the league to get the rule changed? When is the agm?

I’m sure if someone of his quality as a leader comes to play for us, he might end up with an assistant role of of some sort. Not sure what he’s doing, especially after a losing GF. I’ll leave others to have that chat with him. Like, the coach/coaches 😂

Seems to be a significant increase in penalties being handed out in recent times in games umpired by GVFUA . MFL’s highest vote getter this year also deemed ineligible , meaning 3 of the 6 senior b&f’s in the last two years, the highest vote getter has been ineligible .

I’m in agreeance with this. Not trying to take away from the last winners, but I believe that they were both ineligible for incidents that didn’t require a week off. Back in the days of AFL points a reprimand didn’t make you eligible for the Brownlow. It’s somewhere in the rules now.

If it’s not serious enough to miss a week it shouldn’t be serious enough to lose eligibility for the league medal. A reprimand is basically a warning or a suspended sentence - this is hanging over your head so don’t do it again.

100% that's been my opinion all the way along! If a player gets yellow carded on a Saturday but no report he's still eligible so it should be the same as a reprimand! Penalty served on the day no further action required, fair bump play on!! 👍🏾

Are you able to provide any numbers on the number of reports coming from your league this season in comparison to previous years?
Have there been more or less reports? More or less set penalties?
more or less tribunal hearings?
More or less suspensions?
And has the severity of the penalties awarded been higher or lower?
Just pm if you prefer

IIRC these things used to be fully disclosed and reported in the local press but I only recall noticing 2 individuals mentioned for separate reasons at the end of a single article which detailed tribunal outcomes of other leagues in the region this past season?
